Well, wow!  A title that actually seems completely self-explanatory.  Of course, if they amuse themselves while they discuss the mystery of Dani, that could change the mood of the piece.

I envision this as a light and fluffy piece involving  group hugs and cake!

On a side note.  Please please please please please bring back the uncontrolled reactions to hypnotic commands and triggers.   The last time we saw one was with Jaquie being unable to get dressed and putting her body into sexual positions without her conscious control.   Yes since then, characters have obeyed hypnotic commands, but they haven't obeyed and then wondered or had reaction like.. Wtf did I do that!? or Why can't I stop doing this?!

I can't wait till I am proven right tomorrow.

Hmmmm Cake.

It was Adrian and Mallory, and it was serious and then verged into playtime.  So, pretty much the right balance for this strip.  We should acknowledge that, at a minimum, Adrian seems to have Lance Armstrong stamina without pharmaceutical help...or maybe Phelps' stamina out of the pool.  That shirt he's wearing is also interesting.  Is it a sweater or a pajama top? Huh Wink  Whatever it is, it looks completely non-threatening.  You might say that he's dressing the part of "a wolf in sheep's clothing" if you were to view the interaction skeptically.

Once again, he didn't make a declarative order.  Other than "Wake up Dani" and a gentle "No" about Raven, the only actual order I can find him uttering since this whole thing began is telling Mallory to go have fun with Marliese--to

1. Get her out of the way/remove temptation and
2. Allow himself time to focus and react to the situation.

His greatest strength in this situation seems to be his ability to let the girls follow their fantasies and keep up with them, encouraging them and trying to help them fulfill their desires.  That seems to be one of the crucial aspects in which he differs from both Quentin and Derek-the-Moron.  El Magnifico is absent, and we haven't seen his process, and the jury's still out on Claudia, but I suspect she uses more Q's approach than Adrian's.

Also, no cake.  That's actually becoming something of a worry.  We haven't seen him sit down to an actual meal since The Night of The Watch.  He keeps going out on dates that start with coffee (at Overroasted twice now), and then they skip right to dessert, no entree.

Clearly, we need a lot more pages with people eating.

Weird. You know, I don't think we've seen him take a shower since the night of the watch, either. And we've never seen him on the toilet. None of them ever seem to brush their teeth. What's up with that?

And come to think of it, how come they never show Batman doing his taxes?

Interesting book selection:  the Christmas gift from Adrian (nice callback!)(Just went back and looked, that's not it at all!), Cthulhu mythos, and Stephen King.  The Unaussprechlichen Kulten book, in particular, I find an interesting inclusion, especially since the book itself is fictional.

Anyway, the usual compliments of excellence all round.  the last few issues have really been bringing the sexy, while simultaneously advancing the plot.

Lol!  *Suddenly Dark Clouds Roll in, The sky fills with thunder and lightning*... And suddenly SJI took a turn for the Buffet!!!!

Well Adrien got his cake and seems to be on the verge of eating it too.  (Always with the euphemisms)

Ok.  And on to the book list.

Salems Lot  By Stephen King
De Vermis Mysteriis By Robert Bloch
Unaussprechlichen klutzen

So either these books are actually hollowed out and filled with chocolate,
or Mallory is not the first person you would want writing for My Little Pony cartoons.

So I'm placing my bets on Mallory developing supernatural powers or dabbling in magic if she hasn't  already..
She always reminded me of Gwynn from the webcomic Sluggy Freelance.

Great work one and all again!

It really would be helpful to know how old Dani was in guest page 5.

23. At his moment, she's 25, and her birthday is in (late) May.

Also, U. of Paris and Wilmot M.A. are in her "official" background in the April 2012 Bonus materials which have all been made public (minus the pretty pictures) and which, I assume, we are supposed to consider canon.  That's way too much effort for it to be an April Fool's joke spanning two years.  Don't get any ideas, PK. Wink

If I may be permitted to defend myself a little.

I only brought up the meal thing because Adrian went on dates on consecutive nights that were definitely supposed to include meals as prelude, and never got beyond coffee before the

"Let's get outta here."

"Check, please!" phase of the proceedings.  Furthermore, neither started at an actual restaurant which is also a little odd.

I've heard of progressive dinners and pub crawls which are about hitting a sequence of locations as the night progresses, but, as far as I know, neither concept was in play for either date.  Now, of course, I could be wrong.  It just struck me as an odd pattern, particularly because you'd figure that unless Pat Cavanaugh was also part Kryptonian, Adrian would need his strength to be adventurous enough to fullfill the fantasies of his harem.

From the information Daphne just gave us, I'd guess that the entire New York harem phase of Dani's life that pretzeled her self and identity took about 18 months.

I have two reasonable guesses bout the breadth of her affected memory.

Either, El Magnifico is someone from her past (possibly connected to her father) and part of his programming was to rewrite all her memories involving him after she was inducted into the Harem; or, as part of her escape she sought assistance from another mesmerist to minimize the trauma of her experience (to forget about it or heal from it) and that person was either not as skilled as El Magnifico, misunderstood El Magnifico's earlier presence in her memory, or couldn't resist having some...fun.

Question--Did Dani ever tell her housemates where exactly that Home Ec disaster happened?  That could be one of her false memories as well.

Yes, the details in the bonus are canon.

There's a bit of an in-joke between PK and myself there.

No, you've seen everything she's said about it.
