So just follow the maid trip post from the last page and use the strip club option in phase 2 then leave the ring. I was experimenting with different options and found that changing the choice when you wake up to stripper club give me the dark room.

That's not quite right; the brainwashing/mantra one you get by taking the ring. I'm not sure there's a specific thing that gets you to "a dark room"; each dark room seems to have its own conditions.

This is one of the main reasons (besides my general feeling of "playing fair") that there's no random component in Starter Marriage; I wanted paths to be at least stable within a release.

Thanks for the advice! So far, I've (drunkenly and accidentally) only managed to trigger spell mantra dark, dante and renee dark and robot mantra dark. I have never seen it with just Dante. Looking forward to it!

another little tip that i'm not sure's been mentioned:

when you are talking to renee in the kitchen, there's a point where you are *almost* MCing Allison. If you choose "there's no point being angry" you'll see the option read as "I tried to [control] her" indicating that your attempts are failing. BUT-- and this only works if you've tried doing enough MC already-- if you go "really i just wanted to fuck her" and then choose "i'm just surprised Annie was on board" there's a chance that you'll get something like "yes, i [controlled] her to accept it" here instead.

this isn't a guarantee for each run but it's saved me several times in the past lol
