Wait, what?

I guess with the trip back into a couple of memories and Claudia masterminding Zenon and Derek's "research," it seems that Zenon's hypnosis aid used to belong to Jakob, and Claudia raided it after he disappeared.  The only uncertainty I had was whether the outer jewel of this pendant/bauble housed shards of crimson shell or crystal depending on who's speaking.

As to the other part, I thought I was doing a painstaking job debunking the idea (however weak or flimsy it might have been) that Julian and Cherry were working for Johannes.  My question was, whose interest do they represent in opposition to him.  Is it Jakob?  Johannes' secretary out for herself as Claudia is out for herself?  Or someone else who's running Johannes' secretary.

Also, please make sure that Jen, Unflappable Sue, and Johannes' secretary cross into the continuum again.  all three of them are "fun and fun to look at" (as Olivia D'Abo might say).

I'm not sure painstaking is the word.

I was trying to be thorough, detailed, and clear in examining all the evidence (while also staying concise).  Swing and a miss.

The thing that threw me was your statement about Julian since I thought we'd all but accepted that Cherry and Julian broke into Zenon's office to get the pendant.  I thought I was defending my stance on a different topic.  *slaps-own-forehead*

Just for the record, Daphne, you totally posted Tuesday's update thread in the wrong place.

As far as Sue goes, I get the feeling that Daphne originally planned for her to feature more heavily but changed her mind about the way the plot was going at some point here. I agree with jmundt29 though about some members of the cast. For being in charge of an MC'ed harem, Adrian doesn't do nearly enough MCing, especially considering I think he has a repaired watch now (though that's just been implied, not stated). And likely a whole lot of shells.

I think she, Jen, and Johannes' secretary should show up for more fun.  Jen seems quite cool.  I think she might get along well with the different personalities in the SJI.

Our investigation of what Adrian might or might not have acquired recently was interrupted so we could see Cherry be human slime and Derek be...well, Derek.  Maybe we'll return to that thread in a few episodes.

It definitely appears that Cherry/Julian don't work for Johannes.  Jakob seems like the most likely remaining candidate.  This raises another possibility.  Given that Derek seems to know Cherry/Julian, and given that Jakob seems to have double-agents in other peoples' organizations (e.g. Johannes' secretary), is it possible that Derek is actually a double-agent for Jakob, helping keep an eye on the remainder of his harm while he's off doing... whatever?

If so, that casts Derek's seeming incompetence in tracking down the Watch for Claudia in a somewhat different light.

This is the SNL Reagan theory of Derek.  If he were really anything like that, I'd have expected him to be doing something constructive with his time (like taking notes) while he had his fun.  I think he's just incompetent.

Possible, but if he were actually working for Jakob with the express purpose of keeping an eye on the harem, wouldn't he be...oh, slightly better acquainted with Jakob's preferences?  Unless he's Moriarty (and the hapless nature of his adventures thus far would indicate that's unlikely) he wouldn't have been shocked by what was in the apartment.
