Diplomacy, per von Clauswitz, is "war continued by other means". Perhaps revealing how somebody managed to talk their way into possession of the Watch?

Maybe this is where Kanti tries to patch it up with Laura in the hopes of getting at what she thinks is Adrian's Pink Clouds stash?

Another question to add to the background mysteries of SJI: why does Jacqui react to Rain this way? (iirc, she seemed very nervous about Rain's presence in the store when she took Adrian out to get some exposition-about-town as well, about 65 issues ago.)
Possible explanations: 1) she does not like her two employees missing so much time from the job, and blames Rain; 2) she does not like the addition of another woman in the mix; 3) Rain is somehow making her life worse by offering music lessons to Adrian. The first two seem pretty unlikely, or at least unlikely enough that to devote scarce comic space to them seems an odd choice. I'm guessing the third, which brings me back to my initial question of what the pre-existing relationship between Rain and Jacqui is about.

It does appear that the negative history between Rain and Jacqui goes back to Jacqui's relationship with Q (though I think, even with only the pieces we have so far, Jacqui probably should be thanking Rain for that, not cursing her out).
Now, it's entirely possible that Adrian was going to stick his foot in his mouth and bite it off before Hackberry stopped him with a kiss, but depending on how much Rain told Adrian about herself, the end of that sentence or thought might have been interesting.
"Rain's not that much...older than you or me. What's a couple centuries between friends?"
As far as Jacqui being threatened because she's under the impression that anything she can do for or with Adrian, Rain can do better...laughable.

Thanks, GodWilling and jmundt - I had forgotten that first (apparent) introduction of Rain in 101. Doesn't lessen the questions I have about Jacqui and Rain's relationship prior to the beginning of the story.
