I don't think most of the people who watch films about cowboys sit through the whole movie thinking that the cowboy is a jerk who needs to get his comeuppance.
Yeah, I hate MC stories in which the author feels obligated to tack on the "... and, of course, we know that's terrible" ending in order to align the morality of the story with real-world morality.

I have to say that it didn't occur to me for one second to think that that was the intent behind this "ending". Given what a common trope the "... and, of course, we know that's terrible" endings are in MC porn, I can certainly understand someone seeing that ending in this.

I rarely like to Explain Myself, because I prefer the writing to do that, but I'll say: Whatever happened to Adrian between where we are now and Guest Page 12, it was not punishment for having the harem.
And I'll also say that those who didn't like Guest Page 12 might want to avert their eyes from Guest Page 13...

Sounds intriguing!
My initial reaction was one of disappointment, I have to confess. But then I thought that, if nothing else, we know practically nothing about how it comes to that state, whether they're in a state of being "poor but happy" (Echo, right now, is kind of a blank - we know that she played the oboe and that her going into the harem was hard on Adrian), and I still have my theory that this is like the TV show Lost; with things being shaped over the long term in ways that the characters don't really know.
All this to say: I want to see how you get there, and what developments in plot, character, etc. occur to help situate this in context.
The discussion in this thread about liking/not liking something in erotic mc has an interesting parallel in the mcforum right now. An author made a major choice at the end of the second book of his trilogy that upset a couple of people there. The author said that the story couldn't work if he hadn't made that choice.
All this blather to say: I love the story and want more. But that's why I subscribe, right?

Yeah, that was interesting synchronicity, wasn't it?

Does Weston have hidden depth? Because, frankly in what we've seen of him so far he seems like a cross between Prince Charming from Shrek 2 and Austin Powers (with just a dash of Fabio thrown in). His look and what he says seem to match--but if he's the male equivalent of Dani, that might be at least interesting for Erin to end up next to him temporarily.
Also, even the point we reached in Guest 12 could be seen as another jumping off point, but the mood and atmosphere are just so bleak. If the mood changes in 13 as Adrian begins to take steps down the road not taken, that might cast 12 in a new light.
