Flashbacks? What brought them on?  Does the cockpit door still carry the scent of Claudia's perfume or perspiration? Does that sense memory trigger something stronger than the August nightmares? Or is this Dani's reaction to the belltower cranking at full blast? On the subject of Derek, I don't think even he could be that stupid. |

We aren't at an endpoint here. This isn't happily ever after. He has yet to face Claudia and Echo again--he has another ugly breakup to deal with. What he already suffered is pretty heavy. Now, the perks of his current situation are pretty excellent for someone of his heart and stamina, but would anyone accept the heartbreak he's already had, the heartbreak that might yet come, and the challenges of the storm not yet faced for a couple days of sexual marathon?
