Tends to imply disease, mental condition or chemical or drug reaction.  So, this could be the perfume sample party, or it could be the belltower making its presence felt (though how we might not know...could be a reversal of the watch programming or a sudden thawing of Hayley's attitude toward Adrian).  Those are probably the most fun alternatives.

However, there's also the brouhaha at 37 Wall St. to consider.

None of the SJI images are opening. Any idea what the problem might be?

This happens to me instead of an error message when my subscription expires.  It still lets you log in though, so it's easy to miss.  Check the "Active Subscriptions" box in the "My Account" tab to see if that's the problem.

"Headache associated with sexual activity"

That doesn't sound fun.

Interesting popup text, again.  Kate Bush's "Cloudbusting", right?  I think the next line is "I just know that something good is gonna happen."

Fits with the growing feeling -building over the last few weeks of issues - of everything coming together, plot-wise.

It's an interesting diagnostic code though 'headache associated with sex'.  Does that mean that it's a headache from thinking about HAVING sex ("not tonight dear, I have a headache") or a headache that people are getting DURING sex?  Given our subject matter - and that lovely device humming away down in the basement - I assume that it's the latter.  The conspiracy theorist in me likes the idea of the device creating new neural pathways in women, that does some kind of association with sex - so the headache is the act of their brain being re-written (presumably to want MORE sex, or sex with specific person or people).

I'm confused.  What are the symptoms of this apparent epidemic? Huh  Progressively worse aches?  What?  Headache?  Body aches?  Cramps?  Nausea?  What?  Huh

I can't tell from the conversation what the gradually worsening symptoms are.

Also, Hitomi's a 19-year-old Asian-American Catholic cheerleader virgin at Wilmot?  WOW! Shocked Grin

I just realized: of course virgins and other sexually inactive people wouldn't have code 339.82, but they are experiencing similar symptoms but without the sex involved, hence 339.89 for a couple of the entries on the list.  It backs up mi_english's point about their brains being rewritten - good call, mi_english!

It could be a rewrite, but then why aren't the cohorts of the SJI harem affected?  I'm wondering if this is supposed to be ramping up their sex drives, a condition something like a craving, and their resistance to it, or misunderstanding of what it might be is causing something like a withdrawal symptoms (caffeine withdrawal headache in morning, for instance) and they just don't know what they're in withdrawal from, Hitomi particularly.  Although, I like the neural pathway rewrite as a possible alternative hypothesis.  The thing is, if they're being rewritten for specific people--what specific people?  That thing hasn't been fully operational since they ramped down the experiment (early '90s at the absolute latest), so if it's about specific pairings, there's no data to crunch, no direction to give.  Does this make guys like Adrian and Q who have other advantages more...desirable to the female public of the campus and the town?
