The text seems a little... stretched? Maybe I'm imagining things.

I had a similar thought about both this and #907.

Interesting title.  I guess it's all downhill from here for Zenon?  And who is writing fairy tale dialog in the sky?

Quote
Letting the days go by, let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by, water flowing underground
Into the blue again after the money's gone
Once in a lifetime, water flowing underground

Same as it ever was
Same as it ever was
Same as it ever was
Same as it ever was
...

But seriously, all three expressions in that last panel are dead on perfect.

More like a saddle point.

That is highly apt.

There is a fourth one, though it's hard to make out. Anyone have any theories regarding the ghostly figure approaching? Is that a hat or a beehive?

Ah, good catch. Shows how closely I read at times >_> Julian and Kanti disappeared into a forest at the end of i898, but I don't see a male figure. Could be some ploy Julian is about to... deploy, but Mallory did wake up Cherry in i877 and she vowed vengeance in i889, so equally or more likely it's her. That accounts for everybody that's still in 'here', right?

P.S. Adrian has gone from fashionably late... to fucking late... to, "It's a new decade, mate!"

The shape looks female to me too.  The only other women currently seen in the cloud are Kanti and Cherry, and of those Cherry is more likely to be alone.  So unless Daphne is planning to throw another curveball at us I'm going to go with Cherry.  That's also consistent with the 'Local Maximum' title, as Cherry seems like the person most likely to pose a threat to Zenon.
