It's a nice cover.  An adjustment after Naked Fire Shells, but quite pleasing.  It was just Erin without a weapon threw me.

I detest the "princess" label for Disney heroines as marketed since the 90s.  It's just dumb.  I didn't get the Rescue Rangers reference.  If it's C&D animated, there's only one female character.  If it's something else, I don't know it.

Detest is such a strong word. Princesses bad?  Really?  Heroines then?   Then again there are many more than just three..Leading female protagonist roles in Disney Universe.  I think it would be interesting to see Daphne & the Gangs interpretations (and see who they choose).     As for the Rescue Rangers.  I figure Chip & Dale and Gadget.  As for gender.. Who lets gender stand in the way of a great costume?  I mean really nowadays artists and cosplayers alike are swapping character gender roles all over the place (look up Marvel or Disney gender swap under images on Google..though some results may be more disturbing than others).   Women are even dressed up like Doctor Who's time machine.. which  I'm sure has lead to more then a few lewd jokes, none of which I can currently fathom.

For obvious reasons, I've always had a fondness for them...

Not a big enough cast in the Scooby gang to accommodate the SJI.

You are forgetting the FULL extended Cast and crew of Schooby Doo.   There was Scooby-Dum and nephew Scrappy-Doo plus all the special guests.  Don't let negativity stand in the way of a good story.. I mean technically the extended harem consists of guest star cameos.

Yeah, but then most of the girls aren't going to be wearing anything but dog collars, and...

Oh. Oh, right. I see what you did there.

Are we all the way back to Collared Jacqui again?  I remember that being brought up in the reaction to Jamais means Jamais.

So we went from Charlie's Angels to gothic sexy with..what is that, a spiderweb or is that a blank church window in the background.  The tone got darker, marking the beginning of Cherry's influence or..hoepfully the arrival of her much needed and hopefully hilarious and entertaining comeuppance.

It's the Fates - the string is a strand representing someone's lifespan.

Having those three as the Fates is really fascinating, especially in the order shown.  Mallory is the one to cut the string - i.e., to bring death.  That jives with what Cherry has said about her.

I have my own whackadoodle theory about what each of those three characters represents in terms of female archetypes, and seeing them depicted this way does nothing to dispel it.  It's a crazy theory that requires more evidence to present, though.

This is a great new cover; beautiful and sinister and wonderful.
