Is the point at the end that Hitomi can't call him Master, or is she just feeling awkward?

Unclear.  That kind of close facial shot at the end of a comic seems to be connected to the person hitting some kind of mental programming trigger.  Compare the shot a few issues ago with Hayley's "I'll do anything".

Even if that's true, though, it doesn't tell us what the trigger is or what Hitomi will do in response.
