This particular teaser reminded me of Weston working late.

Three factors?  Hmm.

Looks like we're going to find out what one of the other players has been up to.  Perhaps whoever made off with the missing shells from #353?

And whatever happened to Vik?

(Another thought -- the previous titles have all had numerical themes.  Perhaps this one does too?  Is something about to get divided or split up?)

That switch seems more like it's attached to something in the belltower though.  Those are great choices, though.

Fascinating. Is this device merely a way for our antagonist to listen in? Or did it have some sort of control element?

I don't think this is Erotic Transcendence, even though that might be interesting to investigate in a storyline for a future comic.

Once again, the title provides a key clue that I'm missing.  The system could be both a remote observation system so that Jakob can keep tabs on things at home, and some sort of control to keep his harem in line in his absence.  Or it could be something else.  Or it could be both things in addition to something else.

I look forward to finding out.

ETA--Oh, the pop-up is very illuminating.  It's at least a remote observation system.  Hmm.

At first glance, I thought our valiant henchman had been given the code.  On closer examination, that looks like an electronic safe-cracker.

The title refers to a three factor authentication system.  There's a physical key, a numerical code derived from the cryptographic key and an additional numerical code taken from memory.  Without all three the surveillance system can't be turned off.

I have two questions.  First, where did Julian get the keys and code?  Second, did Claudia know the house was monitored?

I think Julian's going off-book here.  Either he started out a lot closer to Jakob than we've been explicitly shown as yet, or he's working with a mole in Jakob's organization.  Jakob has moles who report to him about Johannes, why wouldn't Jakob have been infiltrated?  It doesn't appear that Claudia knew about that particular surveillance system or she probably would have been more guarded in her exclamations about Jakob in that office.  If she knew Jakob was recording her, I doubt she'd have dared to say aloud "Please let him be dead."

We haven't been shown all the functions of the surveillance system yet, so there could be another element designed to control the harem in Jakob's absence, but it could  just as easily be just what it appears to be, a clandestine surveillance system.  Interesting.

At first glance, I thought our valiant henchman had been given the code.  On closer examination, that looks like an electronic safe-cracker.

Actually I think the widget is the type used for systems which update their passcode periodically (typically every 30s). The number on the widget updates automatically in synchronisation with the system, and then there is additional fixed passcode to add so that possession of the widget alone is not enough (so 81...). The only slight concern is that such widgets usually have some sort of bar or similar countdown display to say how much time is left until the number updates but perhaps it’s just about reached zero. So 3 factors: time dependant code, fixed code and key? The pop-up does indeed imply that the system is for surveillance, but as noted earlier it could be for other things as well,  And, of course, just because it says it’s off.... Interesting times.

It also implied that Jakob doesn't have perfect control over what used to be his harem... otherwise he'd just give Claudia a phone call, tell her to 'act normal, but do these things I need..."
