The transparent overlay doesn't seem to be removed/disabled from the latest SJI page (990), only the museum_glass.png is available when right-clicking and saving the image.  I've tried logging out/back in and disabling ad-blocker utilities, and my membership has always been active/hasn't been restarted so I don't think it's something where the download option should be prevented due to a short-term membership period.

This is on Firefox 80.01/Ubuntu.

It appears to be a design change for the site overall. I suspect it might be an anti-piracy effort (similar to the watermarks). (At least that is what it has been for other sites in the past along with the name "museum glass" seems to imply.)

Oh, good.  I was afraid that was a deliberate policy change.  Theft of intellectual property sucks, but so would losing my ability to archive content when I'm a long-term paying customer.
