I'm liking this one, though I don't quite understand what the payoff was all about. Was he going to write a book on hypnosis? And if so, why did she end up writing the one from the first issue instead?

I think he knew that she'd find it distasteful for him to write a book about how to get girls...and she did...so she paid him off to stop him writing it. Since they were going to write it together it would make (at least some) of the Intellectual Property his, by right.

Not complaining but this feels like some of Saint James in regards to the whole two different people with power running around starting to collect people. One seems to be fairly "good" and the other is an ass.
