It's a race to the controls of the Rubies... will the ladies win, or will they become permanent mindless sex-toys? Or both?

Given it's popularity, I wish issues were released more often, and other comics not as popular released less often. Is there any plans to develop other comics with the same Rubies theme?

It's certainly a premise that could support a lot of variations on the theme, in one-offs and such.

Had the start of a story I was working on that fit the spinoff idea on bluemoon as a kind of co-op writing project. Though had renamed and expanded on the origins of the material. It was all, fan made head cannon.

Hrm, was going to comment about Andrea being okay if the male version also causes ... sizable growth during reprogramming but yeah, probably not an issue based on that last panel. Georgina is pleased to make your acquaintance~

Also, the cavalry arrived to relieve Elaine's wrist just in time! Carpal tunnel is srs bsns. Safety first and all that when performing vigorous and extended manipulation.

So, I found this issue pretty confusing. I had to go back and reread some earlier issues to figure out what was happening. Turns out there are a few key concepts that get tossed out in a single sentence in the middle of old issues, so what with the months-long delay between releases, they were pretty easy to miss. At least for me.

Just in case anybody else felt like I did, here’s how I see it:

Q) Why doesn’t Gabby just switch the rubies off?
A) It’s established in Issues 12 and 14 that, in order to go back to ‘normal,’ a Rubied person has to be reprogrammed as their old self. This takes time. Just switching the Ruby off would keep them in their current mental state, not revert them back to normal.

Q) But why does Gabby choose to reprogram these specific people?
A) In Issue 15, it’s mentioned that reprogramming everyone would take hours. Gabby’s response is that she’ll only reprogram a few people right away; that’s what we see in this issue.

Q) Why are some of the reprogrammed people horny and others violent?
A) I think Gabby’s main goal here is just to stall for time, namely, for those hours she needs to reprogram everybody. In the immediate-term, she just needs to neutralize threats. Threat 1 are the security ladies; she just makes them horny, so they want to fuck instead of arrest her. Threat 2 is Monsonis himself, who gets a similar treatment. Threat 3 are the other (male) Quine execs. It’s not exactly clear to me why these execs couldn’t be neutralized like Monsonis, but for some reason, Gabby reprograms their women instead. I’m unsure if the women just incapacitate the execs or kill them. Killing them would seem pretty extreme.

Q) What is Nick doing?
A) Nick I think is executing on a secret plan that the others don’t know about. It appears to involve him being in the security control room. I’m not sure what this plan is. As somebody who wants Nick to re-enslave everybody, this may be a step along that path. There is a reference in Issue 12 to “backups” of “several weeks of development work,” so that might play a role. If Nick isn’t planning on re-enslaving everyone, then I have no idea what he’s doing.

I believe she does just switch them off for everyone, excluding the security guards, if the security guards were not used and abused by Monsonis, they may still carry out his orders, it's their job after all. Gabby had to ensure they still wouldn't obey Monsonis. So she put the security guards Rubies into sexual overdrive.

Q) But why does Gabby choose to reprogram these specific people?
A) In Issue 15, it’s mentioned that reprogramming everyone would take hours. Gabby’s response is that she’ll only reprogram a few people right away; that’s what we see in this issue.

She had hours, days even to write her programming, she just lacked the key to apply her changes. For example she didn't write the reprogramming for the security guards in two seconds, the programming was all ready to go she knew exactly what she wanted to do, once she had the authority to do so, she launched her program.

Gabby didn't program the women to be violent, she just turned off the Rubies control. The women needed no convincing to exact there revenge. They have been enduring abuse for days, weeks even, When they regained control over themselves, they knew what the men did to them and jumped at the chance to even the score. I'm not sure who the guy who got hit with the lamp is, but Oliver got sliced and diced like the carrots. The only thing I found puzzling was why didn't they remove there Ruby's first before dealing with Oliver. I can tell you if I had something on that was controlling me and I regained control, the first thing I do would be to remove it. They had no idea how long the Rubies were disabled for, it could have been a temporary glitch, 20 seconds later they could have been under it's spell again.

Q) What is Nick doing?
A) Nick I think is executing on a secret plan that the others don’t know about. It appears to involve him being in the security control room. I’m not sure what this plan is. As somebody who wants Nick to re-enslave everybody, this may be a step along that path. Well he was distracting the security guards to give the others more time, when they find him they have to escort to security and assign someone to guard him, that the many less guards for other duties. I thought Nick had something up his sleeve, but he doesn't appear to be a programmer and is no where near a terminal to make changes. Gabby appears to be the one in control, so if your a horny slut, released from control or Gabby's new pet, she decides.

One thing I think the author loves women with huge breasts. Gabby could have easily obtained the same results with the security guard women without applying the breast enhancement mod. Perhaps, Gabby feels all women should have huge breasts now.

Here's a certain amount of truth to that.

I believe she does just switch them off for everyone,

Issue 14, Page 12, they talk about Andrea after she's been brain-blanked. "Can't you put her personality back?" Nick asks. "Later," Gabby says, "no time now." If switching a Ruby off would put her back to normal, then Gabby just would have said that (as in, if their plan is just to switch all the Rubies off, then Andrea's personality would come back once they switched off all the Rubies). Instead, Gabby insists that this is a process that will take time; Nick basically says this as well with the way he phrases the question.

Issue 15, Page 1, Gabby says that Marina has "the keys for all of the Rubies. And if we have the keys, we can reprogram them over the air." She's then told this could take hours. Simply switching the Rubies off shouldn't take hours: it's a computer program, an 'off' command takes no time at all. She's told there are only "hundreds" of active Rubies: sending an off command to several hundred units would take less than a second. Note, also, that she uses the word "reprogram" here, not "deactivate."

This tells me that the Rubies are completely overwriting the host consciousness, not merely channeling a set of behaviors. If you ripped a Ruby physically off someone, they would remain in their current state, not revert back to normal.
