Plus, there could be some or a lot of other unsavory history that we don't know about yet. How does one weigh the physical pain, cost and psychological damage of almost dying an excruciating death against the psychological torment and possible physical pain of being in Jakob's harem for an extended period of time?
That is a difficult comparison.
ETA--On a side note, this is an absolutely gorgeous entry, and I love the fluidity of her striding over, drawing the gun from her coat pocket and placing it under his chin. His expression as we start this is difficult to read. Is he raising his hands in a "truce" gesture? Or is he actually arrogant enough to believe he'll get an embrace out of this? I have a feeling Jakob would expect one. But Jakob seems even more psychotic and delusional than Vik (so far).
