It's a question about the Patronage system.  So far the work is beautiful and intriguing.  Is the guy who lost the ring in the opening panels the "twice broken" guy who wants to be a hero more than anything?

Nope....but, honestly you are going to love the comic, it's full of mysteries and plot twists. Bear in mind it jumps back and forth in time - so sometimes you might not know exactly what's going on until a bit later Just stick with it
