Clearly that pervy nobleman from the past didn't get the choice of immortality or a mortal life with his family.


And it's funny to align Rain with Calypso, because I would have thought she's more Adrian's Athena.

It's been quite awhile since I read the Odyssey.  I didn't remember those lines linked to Calypso, though it would seem to fit her story.

All things considered, linking Rain to Calypso is about the most positive association for a nonmortal in that poem.  She's not human, but she's not a full god, and she's loving and caring, and not a threat or egomaniacal.  It could have been much worse.  A link to Circe (for example) would be truly troubling for a lot of reasons.  I'd be looking for a doortag to her cottage "No Solicitations, Mastermind at Work."

On the plus side, Rain showing up means two things

1. Adrian's about as safe as he can be in the current circumstances and
2. He's about to learn more necessary (and perhaps troubling) truths.  Perhaps Jacqui will have some explaining to do before Adrian joins the living room fun.  Very intriguing.

OTOH we could get another cut-away and have no idea what Rain and Adrian talk about. The conversation leads me to believe that Rain let Adrian know during one of their previous chats that he and Miriam were half-siblings.

We know from her comment that she definitely knows about Pearl's biological parentage, but it's tough to gauge Adrian's non-reaction.   He could be refusing to rise to her bait because he knows.  He could sense she knows something he doesn't but be shelving it.  Or, it could have passed straight over his head.  I tend to favor option B, but that's a personal preference.

Also, that comment leads to Rain's history with Jacqui which is already interesting but might prove crucial in the upcoming struggle.
