Interesting.  I took Mallory's actions to be like the NATO doctrine - you know, an attack on one member of the alliance will be treated as an attack upon the whole.  Except, in this case, the alliance is a harem of hot women, which is much more interesting.

I'd also note that Mallory seems to play a kind of 'maternal' role in the household (not as in being a mother, but kind of viewing the others as her responsibility), especially given that she's the most senior of them.  (You know, 'queen bee' of SJI, the one with a real career, she seems to own the house, etc.)  So I think she would take a threat to any part of the infirmary personally.  But you've given me food for thought.
