Positive side--Vik hasn't become a supervillain...yet.  We learned that Q-Box's actual first name is Quentin

Negative side--No splash, but then again SJI time isn't synched with our time--if/when we hit Valentine's 2012 in SJI time, the time would seem to be ripe for an epic splash page.

We get cut off on a cliffhanger.

Now, about the comic itself--who the heck is ripping off  Vik's notes? This is the lab, not Vik's apartment, so the simplest answer is that Quentin's ears are burning as he picks the lock on the lab as his girlfriend and her brother discuss him.  However, this doesn't really seem to be his style, and those definitely aren't his work gloves.  Does he have black gloves to go with his brooding black coat?  The gloves are far too stylin' for Derek the Moron.  So, who does that leave?  Marli?  Rain? Dani on Harem business or a prank? or is Q just being extra cautious and devious...unless Yves has decided to come out from behind his desk to personally deal with the reemergence of Pink Clouds?  Or, is this, at long last, the enimgatic Yvette?

Also, why does Vik keep his notes in a glass display case like a museum piece?  Is that supposed to be a sterile environment in the lab.  Shouldn't there be an attached office with...desks or something?  This just seems like an exceptionally odd setup.

How do you pronounce Vikram's last name?  It loks like "chatter" "Jeel."

You pronounce the last name exactly as it's spelled.  It's a reasonably common name.

As usual, this issue raises more questions in my puny mind - how much does Vik know about the formula?  When did he know it?  What did happen after he loosed it upon Laura all those issues ago?  (If he knew it was an MC formula that worked on women, why the hell would he give it to his sister just before she went out on a date with someone he doesn't like?  Is he in league with anyone else?

Arg arg arg. I both enjoy and am frustrated by this sense of mystery about all the proceedings in SJI.

I know it's too much to ask for three issues per week on any kind of regular basis, but I reeeeally want to see how all these thousands of plot threads work themselves out more quickly than is happening.  Would promising to pay more money (once CC billing is restored) speed things along?

(The preceding was meant as a compliment to the author, illustrator and colourist.  It is meant as a tribute, not as a demand.  I am actually a reasonable person.)

And it was taken that way! (As a tribute, that is.)

At the moment, if I might speak for PK, it's a how-fast-can-he-draw issue, not a money issue. His art is significantly more detailed than that of a lot of webcomics, and the detail takes time. But we're really really glad that you are enjoying the show!

That panel is an excellent reference point for Vik's misunderstanding of 49 after the initial test...and we did have a discussion about it, but it was a lot more recently than the reaction to the initial comic.  I can't recall, maybe just after Vik's well-bred freakout over meeting Adrian and seeing his sister after the dinner he couldn't unsee?

I have to say, I misread the second half of the conversation.  I thought that Vik had begun to piece together something about #49 and was going to tell Kanti.  Apparently, Quentin's unseen confession was a lot more detailed than we might have thought.  Unfortunately, a continuation of Kanti and Vik's conversation means we're due for a flashback which probably means at least two comics of backstory as Kanti relays to Vik what Quentin told her...so, unless there's a splash page someplace, we're probably looking at March before we get back to the good stuff and I think we can forget about seeing Raven or solving the mystery of her orbit around the cohorts until...what June?  It's simultaneously exciting and depressing.  And we should expect the Polly/Rain thing to pop up actually affecting something soon, shouldn't we?

Minor note--the seashell hyperlink is still tied to issue 160, though the "next issue" link is live and we could directly type in the 161 web address.  Is this a minor updating hiccup or the outward manifestation of the solution to a bigger problem that was fought and resolved behind the scenes?

the person is picking the door lock know how to do it right.
So I have say this person may been in jail

Now if formula #49  is mind control to woman, Danielle and the doctor hypnotheragist make woman into hypnotic Sex slave.
The Bell tower transmitter make all woman want sex. Now let have Orgy Party Yes.

Uh, no, I just forgot one step in the update process. Smiley

Okay, just curious

GW--I don't know what the trigger is, because we never saw Derek's entire process exactly repeat, but Jacqui's comment in 14 indicated that the phrase was "something about 'being overcome by lust'" (which, as she goes on to indicate, she wasn't).

Pretty depressing.  The wait is... troubling.

I guess I have to remind myself to be more like Charlie Conway and less like Gordon Bombay.  ("A quarter of an inch this way and it would have gone in."  "Yeah, but a quarter of an inch the other way, and you would have missed completely.").  If my prognostication is accurate, that feels like a long time to wait, but consider this.  If Daphne, PK, and Octavia hadn't made the sacrifice and the time investment to make SJI a twice weekly comic at the conclusion of the 100th issue special, we would be at about Misericordia instead of where we are.  Kudos and thanks to them for their commitment to making this a quality product with very short wait between issues.  It's a mark of how beautiful, involved, and intersting the story is that we're clamoring for more. Cheesy
