Tony's post in the Faster or More Variety poll thread reminded me of something that's occurred to me before. We have long-running comics and some short ones, but I don't think we've had comics where the same group of characters appear in a series of stories of maybe two or three comics each.
I can understand why that is, given that there's a kind of narrative arc that female characters tend to follow in these comics that doesn't leave everyone back where they started and ready for their next adventure. But it isn't always like that: witness the continuing saga The Perils Of Caitlyn Hess in SJI.
I was thinking along the lines of a small team of women solving mysteries where shady janitors are using hypnosis to keep people away from the treasure that's traditionally buried under disused funfairs. That kind of thing. Or maybe just C. Hess, P.I. SJI does need to produce at least one spin-off comic after all, and Chuck's Away! hasn't got off the ground yet.

I guess Audiophilia and Waiting Room don't really count, do they?

I would say not. Nor does that woman whose name changed to or from Hess in Beyond Rubies.

It's a fun idea! It's kind of Barbara's story in Con 'Fused, although not exactly the same thing.

I've been meaning to play with Scooby Doo, but never found a good opportunity.

I threw in Scooby Doo really more to indicate the tone I was thinking of. But there's probably at least two good reasons why I picked that and not Inch High Private Eye.

Three good reasons.
Daphne had three boobs? They must have run a different version.

Two boobs and no Uncle Inch liable to appear unexpectedly from... anywhere.
(To be clear, Uncle Inch is not a euphemism.)

Found a good opportunity. Not quite what God Willing had in mind, but I think it turned out fun.
