When did Mallory merge with that entity that informed her Jakob wasn't dead?

I don't recall how/when that happened.

I get the sense that this is about draining Erin's power rather than curing Cherry, but if this is a Cherry cure--good riddance.  The two of them can go home to Missouri and take crazy risks all by themselves.  I had hoped she'd get a comeuppance that was sexy fun with the SJI crew.
