I'm actually on the fence about putting a bed back there.  Yes, it would be more comfortable and would bow to recent events, but I wonder if putting a bed back there might not make it "safer," less scandalous.  Perhaps by providing tacit approval for frolics back there, the appeal will diminish and the frenzy will disappear.
