Looks like we're checking in on a bunch of people back in the 'real world'.  First Pearl and Jacqui, now Raven.

I hope that doesn't mean we're going to leave a lot of what happens in "The Pink" unexplained.

Is it just me or does Raven look like one satisfied customer after her night with Adrian and Jacqui? I mean we already knew that (https://mindcontrolcomics.com/comics/sji/i732/), but still~

Also, because the speculation must never die, is Erin the queen and Raven her pawn? What sort of opening move is being made seemingly this late in the game? Find out tomorrow! But probably only in part!

I'm wondering if what's happening in The Cloud is going to start affecting the real world in some way. I've no idea how, mind. Unless Raven gets an invitation from Erin to spend a night in a motel...

Maybe she's just opening the coffee shop.

I'd really like to see a "Dramatis Personae" list for each one.  I'm very confused by a lot of the recent ones.

Hitomi and Caitlyn.

Yep.  It was the purple hair highlights in the preview that screwed me up.  It's nice to see that Caitlyn is still active in the chess club.

Also the apparent choker.

I got that it was Hitomi when I saw the page but weirdly I didn't notice that the jmundt post still misidentified her as Raven - I just read that as Hitomi.

I don't know why I keep forgetting Hitomi exists >_<  She's been in some great scenes, but Raven's had better, and the way her hair is colored in the thumbnail really blurs the line between the two of them.

Funny thing is, I was contemplating speculating that Caitlyn could also be described as a Queen's pawn. Maybe if Hitomi had cross my mind instead of Raven... oh well~

There are a couple of reasons why the hair might look the same colour, I thought it was worth mentioning because there has been some discussion about hair colour and I realise it's confusing.

Well when you put the images right next to each other it's pretty clear!  And in context it's very clear (to me) who is who.  But the difference in highlight color is a bit subtle, enough that it's easy in a preview image with minimal context to miss the distinction.

Indeed. Definitely not the same color. However, Hitomi has had subtler highlights at (https://mindcontrolcomics.com/comics/sji/i754/) times (https://mindcontrolcomics.com/comics/sji/i737/) in (https://mindcontrolcomics.com/comics/sji/i682/) the (https://mindcontrolcomics.com/comics/sji/i645/) past (https://mindcontrolcomics.com/comics/sji/i638/). Combine that with the way her bangs are emphasized in the thumbnail and me just glancing at it initially (something I am often guilty of), and the first internal match was Raven.

Apologies if I came off as perturbed, as I was not in this case. The art of SJI has evolved a lot over the years, which is part of its charm. That does make it a bit of a challenge at times to nail down with a casual glance who is being featured though.

Am I the only one that isn't really sure what the heck happened with the chess game? You can't exactly checkmate out of check unless it's that its actually mate and she didn't realize it.

Just, the game itself didn't make a lot of sense :P (Yea I know, logic in my porn or something.)

Of course you can. All you need to do is capture the piece that putting you in check while that space happens to be a place to put your opponent in check.

As far as I can see it doesn't actually work as a 'normal' game, but perhaps 'sneaky’  extends to more than cleavage exposure: it definitely looks to me that somehow the black and white squares have been inverted beneath the pieces between frame 2 and 3 so perhaps a bit of clandestine piece relocation is going on as well....

I thought it was Hitomi when I saw it, but when I got to the thread, there seemed to be consensus that it was Raven.  At which point I figured I missed something.

The side-by-side is clear.  Hitomi has pink highlights and has had since before Pink started to eat the cast.  Raven's accent color seems to be a sharper purple.

Okay, yes this is true. Though the odds of being able to get both out of check and put the other person in mate at the same time is pretty low. I'm glad someone else noticed that there was something else going on with the board.
