Um, do we have a name for Claudia's valet? It isn't either of her honor guard when she's questioning Derek, but we saw her before when Claudia was quietly paying bills in the study. Who is that?
Also, I could be off-base (again), but it really doesn't seem like Claudia thinks Johannes will help. She seems almost as threatened by him as she does when she considers Jakob. However, she appears to be trying to make lemonade. A better question would be "How in the world does she think Derek...even with Jen's capable assistance, could help her manipulate Johannes into bettering her situation in relation to Jakob?"
Derek doesn't give the impression of competence at all.
