This last year has been disheartening to say the least. It's hard to stick around when there's no tangible plan or any true any idea what the future holds here other than to hope. It's reasonable to assume that things are shutting down or on an indefinite hiatus at the moment.
What has always been evident to me is that Daphne and Co have always been incredibly professional when events such as this were to occur. Professional and proud to keep their schedule to where if something were delayed by a week, there was communication. Things have changed over the years too. We used to know a full month's comics before they were released. Then we knew on the weekend before. Then we knew the day of. The goalposts kept moving, but there was always something released. This crew has been so on top of it in the past that the only logical thing in my understanding that they are truly unable to produce content like they did before. I heard it is due to pipeline issues, but I think that only makes sense for a few weeks, not a full year. That indicates to me issues on a foundational level, and that could either mean financial or creative distress. I have no doubt that things will return in the future, but how far off that will be remains to be seen. I hope for the best, not just because my appreciation for the site, but because of my respect to a creator that has inspired so many and worked so hard.

This is exactly my concern too. We’re almost completely in the dark about what’s happening BTS, and without any clear plan or solution, it’s completely understandable that many people feel frustrated. Actions matter most, but clear communication is still too important.

I’m choosing to be hopeful. I believe this will pass (maybe not as quickly as we’d like), and while things may not go back to how they were, we’ll probably settle into a new normal (Something gotta change to stop this from happening again).

I also hope Daphne and the team understand that the frustration comes from how much people truly care about and love their work, and aren't be discouraged by the recent negativities.
