I feel like this premise has been used before.

I guess I'm just over the voyeuristic recounting of a woman detailing how she was mind controlled by *someone else* to a male character.

I mean the meat of the story is before the "twist" and it doesn't really recontextualize it that much... if he can hypnotize her, why is he bothering ruining some professor's life unless he actually did that?

Don Lomax's particular style of exaggerating the human form has such a sense of texture to it. It was a bit much for me in The Bed Where It Happened, but I think it worked well here.
