Shouldn't it read "Mia's husband…" not "Olivia's husband…", since He' s having an affair with Olivia and married to Mia? Unless those things have changed since the last Chapter, and judging by the somethings have DEFINITELY changed to some people. Btw the same quote is in the coming attractions email, for this plot summery. Hope it is helpful.

So glad that this one has come back to greet us!!!!   When they said mother and daughter, I at first thought it was going to be Katie and her mom, but it's kind of nice that that wasn't the case.  Only question there is how much or little we're going to be seeing of them in the future and in what context.  I also noticed that this was the first time Charlotte called the "boyfriend" Master while out of trance, what's going on here I wonder.  Hope the next one will be here quicker than the time it took between this and the last issue, but then it probably won't be as long, will it?  Just one thing: did the girlfriends have to become bimbos?  Personally, I'll take Apartment 4F slaves over brainless nymphs any day, but that's just me.  Great job on this and, as always, looking forward to the next issue.

PS Olivia giving her boss the ability to create his own harem is leading up to Mia divorcing him for her own master, isn't it?  Then the boss is ultimately going to be left with no wife, no harem, and no money as it all gets funneled into the real master's account.

A brief letter to the editor, from a longtime lurker:
By the Book is perhaps my favorite ongoing story. I like Olivia's helplessness in the face of her inexorable destruction in issue 12. I like the way Charlotte leaps into taking over women with a vigor and enthusiasm that outpaces the master's, surprising him by erasing her roommate and creating a new, slavish persona in Kayleigh's body, and editing Karin's mind until she's happy to become furniture. I like the master deciding to follow Charlotte's lead, erase Katie and turn her into an object, and his recruitment of Sherri to implement that (Sherri really ought to decide that Katie should drop out of school because as a fucktoy she doesn't need any education or future, and her time is better spent cleaning house or studying porn or posing for webcams or pleasuring Sherri). 

I like the contrast between the master's destruction of Katie and Sherri, and the much more crude and tentative brainwashing that Olivia's boss performs on a similar mother-daughter pair in this most recent issue.  It's interesting to see how some women are completely rewritten from the ground up (Kayleigh, Katie) and others are influenced but remain mostly intact (Nikki, for instance) and others are only controlled while in a trance state (Annie, Clarisse).

Stuff I'm less into: I didn't know enough about Jane in particular for her transformation with Thena to be meaningful.  And I don't dislike it exactly, but I hope that the Mia/Olivia/Olivia's-boss subplot soon comes to a good resolution.

It's not clear to me how much time has passed in the story: I thought it was taking place over only a few days, until Katie told Sherri that she and Nikki had been together for months, and it's not clear how much time elapsed between Thena and Jane departing to get boob jobs in #21 and returning with new breasts in #22.

I realize that the concept of 'By the Book' is a lot less open-ended than, say, Cuckoo's Nest, so I'd like to see a good ending. The alternative is that it sort of peter out and trail off.

Still one of the best series on this site. The way the protagonist plays with and epands his harem, and uses some of his subjects to gather other candidates, is all very hot.
