Maybe it's a bit like Sauron's ring and wants to be found.

No Nazgul, so far. I am SO disappointed. No elves, either.

Hrumph.

And no huge breasts. Oh well. Maybe next chapter. Off to a great start regardless.

Nice preamble. I know I can't speak for others here, but I like the set up. The guy is neither creepy, a dick, or an emo annoyance. It's a very hard balance to work. Here's hoping you do something creative with the guy's girlfriend. And of course show some boobs.

I'm a little confused on the numbering system. Bearing Gifts 1-5 feature Bertram. Bearing Gifts Found Objects 1-11 (Bearing Gifts numbers 6-16, if we keep counting) feature Brian.

Following on from that numerically is Bearing Gifts 17 (which supports the 6-16 numbering mentioned above) features someone still named Brian, with Barbara as his slave (so, still the same Brian from Found Objects), but the person he's enslaving seems to be the slave from way back in Bearing Gifts #1. Which would make perfect sense if BG 1-5 were sort of a "flash-forward", and we're now seeing how the enslaver in BG 1-5 got established, except for the name change Brian -> Bertram.

But that's a separate issue. If BG-FO 1-11 is the first "Found Objects" arc, which is the second? To make this Found Objects 3?

I have found the numbering to be kind of odd. And, like you, I have no idea how to reconcile the lead character changes.

Best of the series so far. I like this new protagonist.
