That is a fair question, and it has a surprising answer:
We get more subscribers when we do not announce titles far in advance.
I realize this is completely counterintuitive, but after 10 years of being in business and nearly three years on the new system, it's unmistakable. It makes sense to me. If you're a potential subscriber with an interest in some specific comic or set of comics, and you know that none of them are going to be published in the upcoming month, then you won't subscribe for that month. But if you don't know what's going to be published in the upcoming month, some of those people will subscribe 'just in case', because there might be something of interest to them.

I'm sure everyone reading this is about to type, "But that's definitely not true of me! I love to see what is coming a month in advance!" And I am sure it is true for you, gentle reader, but in aggregate, it's very clear.
As a friend of mine likes to put it, "My single data point can beat up your single data point." The aggregate only lies if you make it lie.

I would have to say that in the past I have budgeted for a new 3-month subscription based on the upcoming schedule, if I've let my subscription lapse... buuuuuut...whenever I am considering letting it lapse for a bit to devote my porn budget elsewhere for a bit, a title seems to show up right as my subscription is about to expire that I've been waiting for, and all I can think is "Well played, Daphne". She knows what she is doing

I have been a subscriber for the last 5 years and I understand the need to attract new blood but surely that has to be offset by the needs of your regulars. I for one miss the monthly calendar updates so I can plan my logging on and which helps me avoid those stories I have no interest in viewing.
Also some of the stories are repetitious, people just hypnotizing all and sundry with no aim in sight other than hypnotizing someone else. It would make more sense to target individuals eg a guy cuckolds those men who have in his opinion wronged him in some way or another. Can we also have some variation in breast size not everyone is into balloon size breasts.

Daphne I refer to your reply of 6 June 2017 heading "My Inspiration" in which you allude to what some might call writer's block, which is not surprising given that you appear to instigate all of the stories, yet, you have various artists on whom you can call for these stories but appear to have no back up to help you when you run out of ideas, perhaps you should give some thought to this as the last thing we need is for you is to burn out. I know you are not afraid to change artist during a story, the one that springs to mind is "The Persuader" the difference between issue 1 and issue 2 is night and day, so why not writer unless MCC is a one man/woman affair.

Claremont used to keep a large number of pokers in the fire. When he'd finish one story line, he'd go through his fireplace, jiggle a few to see if they were hot enough, move as few closer to the hottest spot and pull out the one he figured was ready to go. And then he'd go. There's an advantage to having many stories; if you block on one, you're probably not blocked on all of them.
The downside is I haven't been able to sell Daphne on a story idea for a couple years now.

Daphne I think I understand the pressure you must be under to produce a weekly fix for all of your subscribers. It seems to me you have too many irons in the fire that you are in fact dimming the fire by spreading yourself too thinly, sorry for the mixed metaphors, but there is so much going on with bi-weekly stories etc. that it must be difficult to give ones full attention to them all. Perhaps you could list those unfinished stories that for what ever reason you cannot see your way to finishing them.

Stories are in one of three statuses, which are listed on the title page: On-going: More issues are expected. Hiatus: Do not expect a new issue soon. Completed: It's finished its run.

I'll bite: where is this, exactly? I don't see this on the title page of each individual title, and I don't see it on an issue page either. The forum has The Long Box, though.

Right now, "completed" and "active" aren't distinguished: they both say "xxx issues" on the title page (on the left-hand side, in the area below the cover). Titles that are on hiatus say "on hiatus" there (see, for example: https://mindcontrolcomics.com/comics/green_sign/).

Ah, I see. Not a major need, but I think it would be nice if the completed runs said "Complete at XXX issues" or something.
