Specifically:

1) How far away is Concord from Kearsage?  45 minutes (#337, panel 4).

2) Why did Julian and Cherry drive to New York, then back?  Because while they were enroute to New York their boss, Johannes, flew into Concord (#317, panel 3) and called them, telling them to meet him there (#321, panels 4-5).

I can't speak for GW, because he and I often don't agree.  However, since I agree with the sentiment of that statement, my feeling would be that he forgot the last part of that sentence.  It's "...for a complete asshole.  At least, not again.  Not this soon."

Although, that last sentence looks like he's being sarcastic...or half sarcastic.  Caitlyn's batting about .500.  Derek The Loser used his in to take advantage of her and have a lot of fun, but she was quite vigorous in her defense during the...oh, wait.  Nope.  There was a problem at Sawyer's too.  1/3 only acceptable in baseball and horseshoes.  Derek's apartment and Swayer's; the creep wins.  Grocery Store, she wins.

Back in a second, I have to do my best to double-check timeline.

So, we found out something.  Getting back to Deep Black + performing the ritual took about 45 minutes.  Interesting.

However, this still leaves me with a question.  Exactly where is the gas station that Cherry and Shaved Head hit?  They left the previous evening sometime between 10 pm and 1 am.  It's about noon, or a little after...isn't it?...when they get their call and Adrian makes his countermove (while Johannes' secretary makes one of her own).  So, where are they when they get new instructions?

Have they been driving all night, or did they knock off somewhere?  I would assume if they had, there might have been a glimpse of it for the eye candy.  Unless, we found the only chaste relationship so far in this comic?  Co-Henchmen?

I'd say ironic but not at all sarcastic. From a mind control perspective, Caitlyn's adventure at Sawyer's was possibly my favourite part of the comic. As you say she's fallen prey to the crystal before - indeed she was the first identifiable victim of mind control in the story. And it appeared she was all lost in the supermarket before Dani came to the rescue. She's the Derek's nose of the SJI squad. Perhaps.

I don't know what's going to happen here - as will probably become apparent. But if the crystal does make an appearance, I don't really mind how much of an asshole whoever it is who's wielding it is. Well, within reason. I mean, if he got her to kill herself that would be a bit of a bummer.

Unless, we found the only chaste relationship so far in this comic?  Co-Henchmen?

It's maybe worth pondering that he's got that crystal but he doesn't appear to have tried it on her.
