Title: FEATURE REQUESTS
Post by: Daphne on November 06, 2017, 11:38:34 am
If you have feature requests for the sites (either MCC or MCT), post them here!

To get things started, we've implemented the requested feature on MCT that the account page now shows all of the movies you purchased, not just the orders with the new site.

Good feature, much appreciated. Would be useful if they could be displayed sorted alphanumerically (as well as by date)?
And what's the  significance of the order section? For me, it appears to just list what has been ordered and downloaded recently (not items ordered but not yet downlaoded, which I could understand).

Well, it's like the orders page on any eCommerce site: Stuff you've bought.

I'd love to have a wish-list on MCT so I could easily get back to the titles I'm interested in when I have the money to buy them.

Also, have mentioned in other places but is still high on my wants to be able to buy MCC bonus comics from months I didn't have a membership because I'm a completionist.

Those are my thoughts anyway.

Well, the business problem is obvious: Price them too high, and no one will buy them. Price them too low, and they lose their main function of getting people to stay members.

I have a more general suggestion: a list of what has NOT been bought. It might well even lead to more sales!

Perhaps if you only allowed purchase of older member bonus comics to people who sustained their current memberships for an extended period, say six months?  That way you could use the opportunity to buy them as an additional incentive to stay a member.

Awesome.

For the record, either I ended up with 2 accounts, or 3 of my early purchases aren't on this account's historical list (which is fine). But I'm just AR enough to notice and then feel compelled to say something. Now I have, and the mental pressure is eased until the next time. It's like an erection, only less pleasurable.

We almost have this! If you sign into your account, and go to your shopping cart, it tries to exclude movies you've purchased already from the recommendations list.

Could they have been done through C4S? Those aren't recorded there, since we don't have any information to match them up with your MCT account.

If you mean displayed in the section marked 'other fun movies' then I'm afraid it doesn't really work for me; the display includes multiple imstances of ones I have purchased which are so marked in the system (i.e. if I click on them I get the 'request reactivation, purchased...'. response)

Well, harrumph! We'll keep working on it.

I sympathize with the problem, and better to do these things right--but I am eager for the solution when it comes. Perhaps if incentivizing membership is the concern then months with no bonus comic could instead grant credits that could be redeemed for missed bonuses? Or if the plan is to have a bonus every month from here on maybe every so many months of membership is worth a credit for a missed issue?

Occasionally there's a page in a comic that's so excellent for one reason or another that I just want to say "awesome"! How about a thumbs-up or 'sweet' or other "I really like this page" button?

Some suggestions for homepage tweaks:

  • Only show a couple rows of Recent Favorites, with the entirety being on a separate page. I’ve starred enough things that it drowns out the other sections below it.
  • Do away with Recently Published. It seems redundant when Just Published flows naturally into All Titles, which are sorted by last published date.
  • Include bonuses in Just Published if they are not already. I seem to lose track of them each month, and I wonder if this is partly why.

I third it, but don’t know offhand how it would jive with All Pages view.

Add musical accompaniment from Cab Calloway. Dude could make ANYTHING Jive.

One feature that would be nice is having some sort of link between volumes of a comic - for example, between By the Book and By the Book 2, or Roll-Playing and Roll-Playing 2, or Bearing Gifts and Found Objects 3 (particularly that last one since trying to get from Found Objects 3 to the earlier comics in the series requires either an exhaustive search of the archives or knowing what the previous title was).

It's not a bad idea! Right now, there are just "titles" and "issues", and no real concept of a grouping higher than "title". It's not impossible to add, though!

Maybe you could add something like "if you liked this title you might also like these other titles" cross-links.

Title: Re: FEATURE REQUESTS
Post by: lifmcs on May 07, 2020, 02:51:34 am
Hrm, yeah, it's not a big problem, except when it is. Prev/Next title links would make the most sense to me from a user perspective.

As a separate idea, since you've got stars, could generate per-title recommendations for different comics based on some heuristic. Dunno how good that data is though. Bit of a chicken and the egg problem~

"based on some heuristic" in a customer feature request I can handle. When I see it in a project requirements document I have an uncontrollable urge to throw myself out a window.

Thank god I'm on the ground floor.

If I saw that in a requirements document I'd give them exactly what they asked for.  Nobody specified that the heuristic had to be *useful*.

I still have too much faith in my fellow humans. It hasn't been crushed out of me yet by Kafkaesque corporate bullshit. By which I mean, you have my sympathies, gentlepersons.

Going over the RFP and comparing it to the bid I'd worked on, the potential client asked, "does it support DSP?"
The requirement literally was, "Must support DSP."
Got the contract by demonstrating the inputs could be multiplied by zero.

I refer to Grey Shadow's comments regarding following the stories he likes if he has problems searching for links why does he not create a folder on his computer and use the download button to save his favorites then he wont have this problem.

I am actually writing to inquire why nearly all the stories are obsessed about women with large or enlarged breasts after all there there are women who have small and medium sized ones who are just as sexy as those with larger breast but MCC stories seem to always insist that the women have enlargements whatever the cause to the outrageous "Beyond Rubies". It looks as if all who create the stories at MCC have a breast fixation.

Another point I wish to raise is what has happened to what I call the one offs ie complete stories in one issue these seen to have disappeared completely in favor of starting new stories to be continued it is frustrating to find so many of these unfinished ones littered throughout the catalogue.

Can we at least have a list of those stories MCC you intend to complete or abandon as you have no idea how to finish them ?

Not everyone can (or wants to) download.

Yes.

No, because we don't know what we're going to do with them. We might continue them, we might leave them on hiatus.

I notice in the above reply there was a reply to breast fixation but not to what has happened to the one offs, will an answer be forthcoming ?

Hard to say what'll happen sometimes. A story I did for a different publisher went on a 2 year hiatus. Then became a cult classic or something because they hired me to finish it.

Thanks!

On a page, the left and right arrows work like clicking on the left and right sides of the image. On an issue, they navigate between the issues in that title.

The down arrow takes you to the next page in the title, so you can use that to read through an entire issue if you want. If you type the down arrow on a title, it will start with the very first issue. If you do that on SJI, leave some time. :)

Is there a way to make the arrow keys thing optional? I like using my laptop, and use the arrow keys to scroll.

Not really, but the down arrow should scroll down if you are not at the end of the page.
