First question: My username is different between MCT and MCC. How can I be sure the accounts will be merged?

The important thing to make sure is that the email address and password are the same between your MCT and MCC accounts. The MCC login takes priority, so we'll merge your MCT account into the MCC username, and you'll use the MCC account going forward.

Although the email instructed us to reset username and password to be identical between MCC and MCT, I can't see how to do the former. However, if I've understood your previous response correctly then this is not necessary. What should be done is to make the e-mail addresses the same (essential) and the passwords (advisable but not essential) and the MCT username will automatically get reset if necessary. Correct?

I'm able to get on and login to MCT (Looks great btw) but I'm getting a 403 Forbidden error for MCC...  UPDATE nevermind it's working now. Thank you!

Since apparently I'm a pedantic fuck who would rather critique the new website than get off to the content, here are some lists.

Problems:

• Download links for one-offs like Hell's Kitchen and High Fantasy 404 for me.
  

Metadata:

• You accidentally an 'n' in the site description on the home page when logged out.
• Buttoned Up is missing what I assume is the series description field.
  
• The Pool of Dr Viagari could use a period on the end of its description.
  
• Cuckoo's Nest and some other sole collaborations have the credits baked into the description, which pokes at my desire for uniformity.
  
• The description of Faerie Tail describes the first issue, but not the Paul Harvey rest of the story. Could probably write something generic about fae shenanigans that works for both.
  
• Might reference Bearing Gifts and link to it in the description of Found Objects 3.
  

Suggestions:

• Would be nice to have the issue count and an Ongoing / Concluded / One-off indicator when browsing titles. I guess the cover images kinda do that, but the numbers can be too small.
• Redirect /creator to /creators, or stick the creator pages under /creators to match /comics.
• Would be super-swell if you threw a teeny bit of Javascript and an API call at the (un)favorite button.
• Make the title text itself clickable when browsing the list of titles.
• In the html page title for series, I would advocate either swapping the order to be <series name> | <site name>, or use an abbr like MCC, or drop it like on page pages. Becomes apparent with lots of tabs open.
• Title link next to the discuss link is redundant for one-offs.
• No way to navigate to browsing all titles from most pages.
• Would be neat to gather up all the creators from all the issues in a series and display them under something like "Worked on by" in the title/series page.
• It’s obvious, but not immediately obvious what the dates mean when browsing titles. Adding “Last updated” wouldn’t clutter things up too much I think.
• If/when you get around to Simple Machines, please please give us [ spoiler ] tags.
• I wouldn't be sad if the ability to change our username appeared at some point in the future.

Overall though, congratulations on the launch! And godspeed working out any kinks so you can keep iterating. Is great to see a new foundation for y'all to build upon.

The problem with downloads for single-issue comics should be fixed as well.

Don't know if it's deliberate or a result of the Law of Unintended Consequences but anyway: I could see the latest page from Rapid Inductions on my Browser  but when I tried to download it (using Save Image as...) I got a blank!
It appears the images have two layers: the actual jpg picture and a png 'museum glass' and the software I used (I tried Firefox and Edge) defaults the former to background and the latter to image (presumably because it's the top layer). You can select the other by going to View Image Info, selecting Media and choosing the jpg to save (at least in Firefox).

This is intentional.

But, you know, you have a point! We do say that customers with 90 days continuous access can "download." When we wrote that, we meant "download the PDFs," but "right click and save the image files" is also a reasonable definition of "download". So,we've fixed it so that if you have download privileges, you can easily right-click and save the image.

I don't know if it's something  I've done or what, but I can't log out of the Forum, regardless of whether or not I'm logged in to MCC and/or MCT. Not the end of the world but.. Also, I still haven't worked out how to go from Forum to main site.

Also. I see that, in common with your previous website the user does not get automatically logged out when the webpage is closed down, which is not what is commonly done (for security reasons, I guess).

Yeah, known bug, due to the main site and the Forum being under different domain names now. We'll see if we can find a fix!

Wow, there's no much code here I've forgotten what I've written:

If "remember me?" on login is unchecked (edited for accuracy), you'll be logged out when you close your browser. (Different browsers have different ideas about what "closing" the browser is: Closing the window or quitting the application.)

I think you mean unchecked! Interestingly, for your site and Firefox the application has to be quit, but for other applications closing the window is sufficient, which is what threw me. Go figure...

OK, we've fixed it so that if you log out of MCC, you also log out of the Forum. Currently, the "logout" button here on the Forum doesn't do anything; apologies for that!

Are you sure? I can't think of a way of checking directly but my 'total time logged in' counter increases even when I'm logged out of MCC!

If you logged in using the Forum login, then the only way to log out is to manually delete any forum.mindcontrolcomics.com cookies out of your browser.

I guess most people will go to the Forum via MCC...
I tried logging into the Forum directly and perversely that seems to have me logged out (and, perhaps not surprisingly, the LOGIN and LOGOUT buttons work) so perhaps that's an easier way to logout!

I would really love to see a direct link to the login page on the main guard page. I *do* like the rotating images on that page, though. :)

Do you do anonymous browsing, by any chance? You shouldn't be seeing the age page that often…

I do, yes. So I see that page every time I visit the site. Which I like, actually--I type the URL by hand, or from LastPass--just as I do almost every site I log in to.

Ah, OK! Of course, we have no problem with you maintaining as much privacy as you want… I just wanted to make sure something wasn't broken there.

I just noticed that page 7 of "The Pleasure Garden" does not display.

I tried clicking on it again and it loaded but then other pages didn't want to load properly.  Weird!  I ran through the comic different times with different results. It might just be a problem on my end.  I haven't had the issue with other comics. 

I was looking at it from an old Vista computer running Firefox.

I was wondering if there was the potential to mark entire series as Favorites.  I think it's fantastic that I can mark individual issues, but I was thinking it might be nice to mark entire series.

You can - click on the star under the big image (which happens to be of the latest issue) when you first go to to the title. The give away is that the adjoining text does not include TITLE! If you want to mark individual issues then select those and then mark them.

As of now, all favorites are favorites of titles, rather than individual issues, no matter where you mark them.

The old Mind Control Theatre site listed the purchases we'd made; I thought I recalled seeing that feature on the new site, but now I can't find it. Was I mis-recalling?

And if anyone knows the importance of things being remembered it will be Ozymandias.

CCBill won't handle our type of material (we tried, along with Epoch). We're always working on it, though!

Are you having any issues with your servers atm? My 3-month sub is current, but after downloading one issue of Martian Harem just now, all the download links are suddenly greyed out.

Well, we *just* rebooted one of them, but we also do throttle downloads; it'll reset shortly.

Thank you for the reply, Daphne! Bafflingly, though, same thing happened today; one download and then all other download links greyed out. I don't think I've downloaded anything much beyond the weekly comic for quite a while, so this feels a bit bizarre.

What does "shortly" mean in this context? It hasn't reset yet.

Generally a couple of minutes, unless you've done a bunch of them in a short period.

A few months back I caught up on a large backlog of downloads and I found during that period that I could download exactly ten PDFs and then the download links would become disabled for a period of a few hours (I didn't establish how many).

Today I only downloaded one PDF (the new one) but all the download links were then disabled. And they still are now about 2.5 hours later. This isn't a problem for me (because I did catch up) but it confirms what ghuserhname is saying.

Problem persisting today for me. It's not the hugest deal, since I'm mostly caught up on downloads, and it's been six months or something since the last time I downloaded more than one or a couple of comics at once, but it still feels annoying that it's happening the one time I'd quite like to grab a handful at a time.

Yep, just checked and it's happened to me too after one pdf download. I haven't dome muiltiple ones for a bit so I have no idea how long it has been going on! Logging off and on doesn't clear it BTW.

Logged in after a couple weeks, downloaded 1 pdf, and all other are now grayed out as well (15+ min)

Today it happened to me. I downloaded the new release and the download button turned off. I didn't need to download anything else this morning but it definitely wasn't working right.

Individual page downloading isn't impacted.
