We're not going to have to de-mothball Colossus for this episode, are we?

The X-Man or the Forbin Project?

On-ish topic, this looks to be queuing up to be a good month for breasts.

Neither. Bletchley Park.

No more Mr Nice Guy...

I find this entirely acceptable.

Preach!

Actually, I kinda like the idea that the girls are more ruthless than Daffyd.

I know I'm alone here but I hope this doesn't become a permanent feature...

Not alone--but if you look at the writers, they all pretty much like BE, so you're going to get what they want. Consider writing. :)

...you might as well counter the "I like BE" comments in the forum with "I'm not so keen" comments.
This is my intent. I may be a voice in the wilderness but I will be heard! ;D
I fully support the fans of Super Humongous Giant Breast Enhancement (tm), they can read 'Beyond Rubies'. I just ask that my own aesthetic be represented. - Itty Bitty Titty Committee -

(Actually anything up to a 'C' cup is great.)

Not for nothing but I notice on the 'actual' Six of Wands card he's riding a horse. :o

I don't care about BE. Which is to say, I'd rather space taken up with BE was taken up with MC instead. But, if it's essential to the plot...

I like it when the physical changes mirror mental changes... which seems to happen in both BR and THK.

I think with BR it's much more than just BE and it certainly works well. I don't like the big-tits-as-a-punishment thing in THK; it does nothing more or less than make me think Daffyd's a dick.

It certainly implies that the series isn't all sunshine and rainbows, but THK has always had this sort of dark side to it.

My favorite 'Daffyd is a dick' incident;

"It is very, very rude to pick up a girl while another one is sucking your cock."

I love Janice. :)
She should sleep over sometime. 8)

I don't see that he's any different to Clovis.

Well, he's more interesting. Though outside of his enjoyment of mind-controlled hotties (like all of us here) he isn't a despicable criminal scumbag. We'll see if he ends up that way though.

I don't see that he's any different to Clovis.

That may well be the point. Daffyd is the Walter White of MC.

I don't really see him as interesting. I see him as being weak by nature, self-serving, and unnecessarily cruel to people he has total control over. Which is fine, you know, because a stronger man wouldn't deploy mind control and that would deprive me of the good stuff. But that doesn't mean I like him or I'm rooting for him; I don't and I'm not. Fortunately he's not the one I'm identifying with when I'm enjoying the good stuff. And actually, the less likeable a character he is, the more I'm likely to enjoy it. Until, that is, he uses his power to do something I don't find sexually arousing.

I mean, what the heck would a good MC protag do then? Nothing? If we don't have a character like Daffyd, we don't have any mc in the story... it seems self-defeating to wish he wasn't he way he is.

Light spoilers ahead. Maybe.

My precious!

No more Mr. Nice Guy indeed.

I VERY much liked this issue. (but, please put Marlissa back in her proper form soon)

Dafyyd is starting to act like a real bastard. I think he finally realizes the full extent of what he can get away with. Who else will he claim as property? Will Nicolette get a mark while he does her ass? I wonder what the magical girl in the book thinks about this, she's been prodding him about it all along.

As for the sub-plot; I understand that he needs to put on a show of strength to the 'others' but what, exactly, is he supposed to do? He's pretty much got Clovis' resources at his disposal. Does that include 'soldiers'? What about that skull-faced cop?

He definitely needs to beware of any potential betrayal, Clovis was undone by Tari while she was under his direct control...

I can't wait to find out what comes next.

Please don't!  ;D I'm really enjoying it so far... especially her and the other women's reactions to it in this issue... it was quite hot.

This issue was great, and I love domineering Daffyd. Obviously there's threats coming his way from the city's power players - and if he develops an edge, he might stand a chance. But the more of an edge he seems to develop, the darker things will get... and that has its own costs as well. Is he likely to try to steal Janice from Jaime? I could see that being a bit of a downer, but also something Daffyd's likely to do soon...

Overall great issue, reminds me of why I continue to support the site, wonderfully hot with good mc... can't wait for the next issue! When I wish individual comics came out more frequently, this one is right at the top of the list!

So Daffyd wanted to make a point, and then immediately made them all forget it? Hmm...

Loved the issue. I do hope that the introduction of Janice's husband (finally) is setting up for Daffyd to steal her from him, something this site hasn't done enough of.

Just a funny note: last week we had 'Back Issues', and now we have a girl on this week's cover that is bound to develop some *REAL* back issues! Lol.

On a more serious note, the 'no more Mr. Nice Guy' part of this is highlighting a portion of these sorts of stories that I think is often overlooked. Yes, we often see one episode, maybe two or three or even a series of encounters, but when you actually follow stories like this for an extended period of time, in each and every one you will find there's a distinct point of escalation. It's that odd situation where a mind controller rapidly begins to gain more control over others, even as they start to lose control over themselves. It can be due to psychological stress, or a sudden enhancement of the powers themselves, or just finally giving in and voluntarily taking several steps down the path paved with good intentions (as with Daffyd in this issue). It's a sure sign that things are going to get worse before they get better, if they ever do.This is usually the point where things get too dark, the point where a controller either has to make a decision to cut back on using their powers or lose themselves to the darkest corners of their psyche.

To be honest, I hope Daffyd has enough emotional stability to pull himself back from the precipice upon which he stands. I don't know if that's even possible, however. The hallucinatory Tari could definitely be a manifestation of mental control being exerted subtly by whatever Cthulhu-esque monstrosity has offered him a tiny spark of power...

I really don't understand the sub-plot, what criminal enterprise are we referring to here? The former master had the girls working as escorts, this would come into conflict to other criminal organizations providing the same services. Far as I can see he's not whoring his girls out, so where is the conflict with the "others".

By the way, we are still using the shift pattern so is that a 'D' or is it now a 'Q'?

Obviously the 'D' makes more sense, I'm just following my thoughts down a silly little rabbit hole.

I'm also selfishly hoping to attract some attention back to my still favorite series.

(heh, he said 'hole')
