As does the word, "Wow!"

That's an excellent payoff of the cover teaser. ;)

Now in Colour.

Say, just for fun, lets Recap the last Issue in GLORIOUS RETRO FASHION!

--------------------------------------------
Last time, on Free Trade Zone!
While making a pit stop on her way to Earth. Our voluptuous Heroine, Ambra! Is informed of a sinister plot against her by corporate no-goodies, via an old flame!

In an attempt to evade this plot, she rushes aboard her vessel, it only to discover it unable to move, thanks to a untimely lockdown!

Desperate to make her escape, she agrees to take on-board a seemingly helpful passenger whose talents allows them to break free of the refuelling stations grip!

But her relief is short lived, as the passenger turns out to be part of the plot, along with the escape!

Activating their Starmines Programming, the deceiver commandeers the Ship along with the minds of our Heroine, and her lovely Sister Antra, but not before having them change course, to the origin of the conspiracy: Vesta!

What misadventures await them next?! Find out in Issue 4 of: Free Trade Zone.
--------------------------------------------

How was that, did I leave anything out?

The word yes suggests itself.

As does the word, "Wow!"

How about 'Nice!', or maybe 'OMG!!!'. :-)

Personally, I'd love to see the entire series redrawn by this particular artist.
That's one fantastic upgrade.

Hell, maybe if theirs enough positive feedback for this issue, they'll consider it.

James LeMay is one of the most amazing artists I've stumbled across on the internet! I'm always impressed with his work and eagerly await this installment.

James LeMay is da Bomb.  Or is that Curtis LeMay?  I always get those two confused.  Either way I'm looking forward to the comic.

James is the bomb. Curtis wants to bomb. Huge difference.

Good god that was good, I've got chills. Love the new characters I'm looking forward to getting to know them, and Antra's ever "graceful" entrance sure left an impact. :) Also, love the first Impression Ambra made with her new crew, hope their not going to let her forget about that.

Also Ambra's right, never name your ship something awesome, especially if the name came from a Film where said ship had something horrible happen to it. I'd be like calling a battleship "The Unsinkable" it's just asking to have disaster strike.

Add my voice to the chorus: awesome artwork! And the story is developing nicely... much better than I'd hoped.

cool.

...and I want to amplify that a bit. I went back and re-read all 4 issues, and I've seriously underestimated this story. It's developing very very nicely. I can't see how you're going to wrap it up any time soon, though, with all the balls currently in the air; does it still qualify as a "short run"?

Regardless: very very nice. Looking forward to the next issue.

Including me, that's two in favour of a James LeMay redraw for the previous issues, with none opposing. If this was a democracy I'd be a shoe in.

Fortunately I'm aware that this is in fact a benevolent Dictatorship, and thus know the only way for this to be a reality is to grovel before our MCC overlords. So here goes.... ahem

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, PLEASE PLEASE, PLEASE! do this. It would be soooo great. Or at the very least do a poll to see how many others agree.

You could call it, Free Trade Zone: Retrofit.

I really hate to dash anyone's dreams, but Mr LeMay is a very meticulous artist, so given a choice between his time on new issues and his time redoing old ones, we'll go with the first. :)

Put me in the camp of always advocating for new issues over rehashing the old.

The MC device in these comics is so hot... super hot that the women willingly step into them, too. I'd love to see JLM draw the full body modification process, as well.

Worth a shot.
Guess I just wanted all the Issues to match the recent High Quality that they've now gained. I know if I had the cash for it Is what I'd love to hire him to do.

Maybe later down the line, you might reconsider. But for now I can be satisfied with the new issues, which I know are going to be EPIC!

I've though of a idea for an new look for the process.

It could be a VR helmet that they put on while their secured in the pod-bed, while holo "Attachments" are modding their orifices instead of the physical ones seen previously.
All the while their minds are being tended to, by the Virtual Whore Programming which works in sync with the holograms, allowing for the implant to be simultaneously attached to the women while their at the height of pleasure in both the physical and mental plain.

They look fine, (and I do mean fine) to me as they are now. Though I wouldn't be against seeing that occur to a new Character.

Given that the comic has gone for a more realistic take on space life. Does it mean that the chances of us to seeing a rather hot girl on girl, Zero-G Sponge bath, with say... Petra and the Tech, are very good? ;D

I guess part of it is the fact that the transformations were done under a previous artist, and JLM drew them with sort of his usual proportions. I'd love to see what one of those enhanced physiques looks like in his art style.

It's a real thing. https://home.bway.net/rjnoonan/humans_in_space/hygiene.html

Or you could incorporate this. Looks nice and enclosed not to mention big enough for two. http://science.howstuffworks.com/astronauts-eat-in-space1.htm

A Shower scene could also lead to a reveal that Ambra has her own private gravity shower, she didn't tell the others about. Cause that would be in character for her.

It's not that kind of Sci-Fi, man. Think more Space Odyssey, and Aliens, and less Futurama when it comes to the Tech.

By which I mean its industrial, and very phallic.  ;D

That reminds me.
Is this the kind of Future where Aliens exist and are in contact with Humanity, but haven't appeared so far, cause many are steering clear of the Free Trade Zone in favour of less shady Earth dealing? Their own shady corporations being the exceptions of course (like Mass Effect's Noveria)

Or is it one where their out there and just haven't revealed themselves yet? (Aliens/Predator)

Or one where they simply don't exist at all? (Battlestar)

I'd like it to be the first one cause the other too would be real depressing, but that's just me.

I think of FTZ as "space opera with hard SF characteristics." I try not to break any actual laws of physics (except for, maybe, whatever they are using for fuel).

In answer to other things...

* There are no non-Newtonian drive systems; everything involves propulsion systems we have now, just with higher energy-density fuel.
* Sadly, humanity has no more evidence of complex alien life in FTZ than they do now.
* Artificial gravity requires expensive, heavy, power-thirsty equipment, so it's not suitable for shipboard use (either for passenger comfort or for propulsion). Mattioli having it is a tremendous display of status, akin to "Which of my private jets would you like to fly on?"

Title: Re: Free Trade Zone #4

So does FTZ take place just in our solar system in some future? That was unclear to me...

Yes, just in our solar system. The moons of Jupiter are basically the farthest frontier at this point.

Anyway it's good to have that info, I kinda figured it was one of those kinds of Space Operas, now I have confirmation.

Its good to set out some ground rules in your fiction too, if there were none it'd just be an invite for all kinds of nonsense. Good to see you haven't slipped up when it comes to adhering to them, really shows the dedication you've put into it.

Well that sinks my idea of Ambra having a grav shower. Oh well I like the image of the Girls rubbing each other's naked bodies with wet cloth's a lot more anyway.

If conservation of water is not an issue, zero-g showers with liquid water are totally viable. You could have one of those soft-focus lesbian scenes in space with bubbles of water floating around, would be pretty hot and completely over the top in how it's trying to sell the sensuality.

Water reclamation kind of has to exist, so I suppose that could work...

I read that Astronauts use a suction device to get rid of the excess water. I guess its some sort of plastic tube that is secured to the shower wall until its used. Like a vacuum on reverse, only instead of being thrown out, all used water is purified and recycled. Its also said to be actually a lot cleaner than most of the water we drink on Earth.

You'd think the last thing they'd want in space would be non-stick pans.

I'm similarly confused about what's supposed to be getting me hot in this proposed scene of wet lesbians. Is it the physics?

Well, for those poor souls who aren't scientists and turned on by physics, lesbian shower scenes are kind of a trope at this point. Daphne, having an overdeveloped sense of irony, might do something like this with a wink and a nod. In particular, I remember the title of one of the strips Raven and Erin were involved in in SJI...

Surprised no ones asked this but what was the influence behind this setting?

There's isn't that many other Sci Fi comics (Well traditional Sci Fi with Space ships and set in the future.) on the site.

So what was the though process behind this. I'm curious to know.

And there's the reason! I wanted to do something in outer space. The very first one was inspired by the conversation between Ambra and Noko, and grew out from there.

All ideas do. Some ideas just aren't good ones.

"OK. So we mount a couple chainsaws on the side of the car and we're ready for the zombie apocalypse. What next...?

"Dude! Lets take this to the park and go LLARPing!"
