Mystified.  Totally mystified.  what is this, the argument heading to the car after they collect the remaining crystals?

I honestly don't know who this is.  It doesn't look like Cait.  So, who's left?  Maybe the person with her hands up in the air on the left is Erin (which would make this Adrian and Dani?  doesn't look like it).  Confusing.

I'm seeing Erin, Dani, and Adrian in that order. In which case Adrian finally appears to have turned into an ape. That's been on the cards for a while: if you don't use it you will lose it.

I wonder if this is just another quiet before the next storm episode, or if something's going to burst in here.

Jazz hands looks like the outline of Erin's head...and that could be Dani in the middle if Erin's wearing those ever-unique 7-inch high-heeled boots.  Last outline doesn't look to me like the outline of Adrian's head/torso combination.

Looks like Erin, Dani and Adrian to me.  Note that they're walking away from the camera.

I'm assuming, if it is Adrian, that his floppy hair is making his head appear stretched.

Is it just me or is something wacky going on in panel 3 with the perspective? And I'm not just talking about Dani's ass, but rather her shoulders.

If Jakob was an instructor at Wilmot, I wonder if he was around for Adrian's parents time there?

I'm sorry, I didn't notice her shoulders.  I was...distracted, can't think what in that panel could possibly have been more eye-catching.;) ;D ;D

From this, I gather that Jakob is considerably older than Johannes.  I also think he probably was involved in Project Happy College (or whatever the code name for this crystal experiment was...I look forward to being impressed by Daphne's creativity in this regard).

I assume Dani's leaning past and slightly around something to her left - but it does make it look like half her back is just missing. It must be awkward to reach from there; if she needs a hand getting something from her back pockets...

We could have had a very misleading teaser image of a close-up on Caitlyn in that last panel.

I'm still not seeing any real evidence that Jakob is much older than Johannes. How old are we thinking Johannes is?

30, 35 maybe.  From the jumbled information we've got, I'd put Jakob closer to 45 at the youngest, leaning more toward 50+.

I'd say Johannes (unless he's the comics version of that bowflex model) is younger than Pat & Miel, while Jakob is either the same age or a little older (say between 24 and 30 when Pat & Miel were subjects of the experiment).

I don't think we have any real information other than that they were both comfortably into adulthood in the late noughties. My impression of Johannes (I can't do the voice) is that he's 45+. And I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out he were 55+. Although it's not that easy to tell from comic book drawings, obviously, so equally I wouldn't exactly be shocked if he were 35.

You think Johannes of the sleek blond hair and 12-pack is 45?  Really?  Then the Kuplers must be almost as genetically blessed as the Ravella clan!!! :o

Well I'm nearly 45 and that's a fair description of what I see when I look in the mirror...

Well maybe not. But plenty of people my age spend too much time in the gym and retain their original hair colour. Equally, many people my age have beards and at least some grey.

Johannes certainly didn't look 35 to me in his first guest page appearance, and subsequent appearances haven't left me thinking he must be.

Also bear in mind this is an adult comic.  We should expect the characters to be physically attractive because, well, that's what we like to see.  Who wants to watch a balding overweight guy in the sack?  For that reason alone I'd expect characters in SJI to age extremely well.

Yes, but clearly not all of them in all situations.

Jacqui Ravella seems to be the outlier among all normal mortals so far in this comic.  If the younger Kupler brother is really 45+ or even 50 right now, he's a svelter version of the guy who advertised Bowflex in the late '90s/ early '00s.  I hope a triumphant Adrian ages that well.  But, seeing Jo relax with his shirt off before he and Her Unpronounceableness got to friskiness "last year" in the guest pages, led me to estimate him as below 40.  We don't have an actual baseline for Jakob yet, but the early impressions of gray hair and trimmed beard and moustache from Dani's garbled "memory" are tough to shake.

Since there's literally magic and super science in this comic, and the Kuplers have had access to it, who knows?

True.  Rain doesn't look her age; why should Johannes?

But Rain is manifestly not human.  So far as we know, the Kuplers (all three of them) appear to be...though our information is incomplete.

That's a bit of a jump. We don't know for sure. Unless we see her bleed ichor or something I wouldn't jump the gun.

She hasn't aged a day for the last 5 centuries (that we can positively confirm).  So, unless this bridges into the Highlander Universe somewhere and Adrian's going to trip over Amanda (who I'd love to see PK and Octavia draw and illustrate, by the way), this seems to lean toward the "not human" conclusion.

You might know that Rain is Polly; we don't. And where magic is involved, surely anything may be possible?

Almost anything may be possible with magic.  The implication so far is that it's Rain's promise to John.  There's no mention of "It's almost time.  The day you dreamed of is almost here Mom/Grandma/Sainted Family Matriarch" in complete privacy.  And if there was a link like that, I'd expect Rain to have reflected upon it in one of the private moments we've seen.

Seems like it's her promise to John and if Rain and Polly are just names of convenience for an apparent immortal with Greek heritage and a knack and soft spot for music and musicians...well. ;)

It's a theory I've outlined before. But it's only a theory. And off the top of my head I don't think anyone in the story has referred to Rain's promise. I think the only present-day reference we've had to The Promise came from Cherry (whom you usually dismiss as a total liar anyway) - and she called it a 330 year old promise, not Rain's promise.

I'm certainly not saying she isn't a Greek goddess; I'm just saying we don't know that she is.
