Title: Beyond Rubies Cast Post by: Daphne on December 03, 2014, 06:53:16 am Beyond Rubies has developed a pretty big cast... so HMB did a scorecard so you can keep track! (Colors by PortalComic.)

Title: Re: Beyond Rubies Cast Post by: Werdna on December 03, 2014, 08:00:15 am I never had a problem with them looking the same. I think this is just a distilled form of pure awesome, and I only wish it were possible to get more.
Title: Re: Beyond Rubies Cast Post by: Haight on December 03, 2014, 08:18:17 am I love the hairstyles. I'm left with the impression that in addition to morally dubious mind control research Quine has an experimental hairstyle division.

Title: Re: Beyond Rubies Cast Post by: dollarsandsense on December 04, 2014, 12:23:25 am I notice some changes in hair colors (Charlotte, Emily, Marina, Andrea, Laura). Is that due to a change in colorist, and will it be permanent? On HMB's deviantArt version of this picture, Emily and Marina are white, so I'd imagine this is just part of Portalcomic getting to know the characters. I find the easiest way to keep track of all these characters is through hair (style and color), so it would be nice to keep things consistent.

I find the easiest way to keep track of all these characters is through hair (style and color), so it would be nice to keep things consistent. Illustrator snaffu saw the wrong version lettered, is all. I noticed it last night and it should be corrected across the board now.Yeah, Portal is just getting acquainted with the large cast and since no two colorists are created equal, he has some different rendering styles and pallets. (Which I like, because not everyone has the same brown color hair and it helps separate the ladies a bit more.) It's no small task, there was a lot of scenes where the red glow makes it hard to distinguish colors in general. As for Laura, her hair was never supposed to be red. That was a coloring error that we just went with (deadlines people) and I've since regretted especially after seeing her and Andrea in the same scene together. Now I wanted to meet in the middle and make her hair a more strawberry blond to help set her apart a bit more. A simple trip to the salon is hardly out of the question for these ladies. I understand that it can be frustrating, that's why I wanted to make this image so we have a nice reference point for new and old readers. Hopefully everything stays nice and consistent going forward. Title: Re: Beyond Rubies Cast Post by: HarryManBack on December 04, 2014, 11:28:52 am Where did we meet Marina? Issue 4, I think. Page 5. Nick waves to her on his way into the Quine building. She had a white shirt there, instead of the blue one she wears in issue 6 where we really...ahem...get to know her.Title: Re: Beyond Rubies Cast Post by: Dragowar on December 09, 2014, 06:23:13 am I didn't notice this Amazing job guys

Currently it is Andrea and Laura.Andrea being his old mistress from the beginning & current secretary. Laura being the Executive Vice-President of Quine. Title: Re: Beyond Rubies Cast Post by: macavity on February 04, 2016, 05:00:27 am So exactly what positions do Alice, Beverly and Claire hold in the company? If I've tracked the story right, Alice is VP Global Operations, Claire is a board member and I believe Beverly was supposed to become Oliver's admin. I believe Beverly was supposed to become Oliver's admin. Now she is. Before the ruby, she was Oliver's boss - something in accounting or finance. Title: Re: Beyond Rubies Cast Post by: Haight on November 29, 2016, 08:38:12 pm Andrea's transformation in the last issue, but I'm wondering if the mental side effects are unavoidable. Or if there are any other side effects... (lactation etc)
Title: Re: Beyond Rubies Cast Post by: gromit on November 30, 2016, 05:05:44 am Thanks for the clarification, I was pretty close.
Andrea's transformation in the last issue, but I'm wondering if the mental side effects are unavoidable. Well Andrea has had the Rubies the longest, she is a good indicator what the other women's future bodies will look like. In the issue Monsonis has Elaine put the Rubies on, you can see his computer screen, options like Hair, Breast, Limbo, Waist, etc since there hair and breast are permanent, it stands to reason there Limbo is as well. Monsonis just must like Women with huge breasts, there's no reason why you can't uncheck those options and enjoy the benefits of the women without the massive changes to there bodies. Or allow them to transform a little and turn off the options when she had the ideal body for you. Bra's are going to be an issue, Bra's sizes typically run from A to G and the largest commercially available bra size is N, Sarah Marie Summer wears a 32M, and she's no where near as large as these women are. Of course if the future world of Rubies dictates that all women should be topless, make it a law even, bra's are a non-issue. Andrea got zapped by the machine they used on Julie, Gabby and Elaine to break their control. It's not "supposed" to do that. Having it the longest doesn't really mean anything. (Although, she is using a prototype version, as are the original 5 women that Nick gave the rubies to.) Why'd that happen?" It's estimated that 33% to 50% of discoveries are completely accidental in one way of another. Viagra for example was suppose to be blood pressure control medication, which it completely failed to fulfill. It would have been written off as a dead-end and forgotten if no one participating in the human trails told the evaluators that every time they took the medication they have a rock hard, hard on within 15 minutes for an hour. |
