Title: Improvement
Post by: dwcomics on November 17, 2014, 07:11:19 am
You know what would be a great improvement to this series?  A title home link like in the non-weekly comics, that way late-comers like me can start at the beginning and get the whole story without having to go back over 300 clicks of the previous issue button.

We've been hearing about an index for awhile.

I've considered just doing one myself.  It would be a good excuse to read the entire series over from the beginning.

Of course, you could cheat and type in the URL for the first page (or any page) directly.

You need to be properly logged in to do this.

It's easy enough to generate an index, it's just that there's little point in posting it in the forum because of the weather house effect relating to being logged into the forum and the site at the same time.

I did suggest at one point allowing people to scroll through the covers left and right and click on them to get to that section of the story. But we have heard tell of a site redesign somewhere over the horizon.

Anyway, I'm not sure reading it backwards will seriously hamper anyone's ability to work out what's going on. Although presumably Caitlyn's breasts will be getting smaller.

We're working on this very thing now (getting CC processing back has allowed us to make more infrastructure investments). For now, I'd suggest using the above issue #1 link.

Why don't you just edit the URL? It's all very intuitively structured.

Absolutely. And this is very much the way web design is moving.

I personally have a passionate dislike of nasty URLs. Everyone's got their peeves, I guess.

That being said, it would be nice to have a proper index to the issues, now that we have so many. I need to replace the rather horrible CMS we're using right now, though.
