We're doing something different here... the first issue in The Chrysalis shared universe!

Planned that way; I wouldn't release it without lettering unless it was intended to not have it. :-)

The existing Chrysalis stories.

I know I'm excited!

is she an elf. dose that mean Chrysalis takes place in a modern fantasy world(im probably overthinging things). this seems more like sideshow then the rest of the Chrysalis storys, maybe this should have been sideshow 2

Elves?  Really?

Wow, that's all we get?

This took an unexpected turn, universe-wise. I'm fond of exposition, so I hope this was intended as a backdrop edition. Nevertheless, this is first-rate, excellent art. The possibilities are clearly endless and I'm very interested to see where this goes.


Elves just make things more interesting. Besides, some of the best drawn characters in a variety of other universes turned out to be the elves. And If I may sidetrack, I think LOTR Elves are the best presented Elves in movieland that I can think of.

The art in this issue was absolutely great.  I can't recall any other art by Seigou here - was there any?  In any case, can we hope that we can see more of Seigou's art in the future?

I just had a thought, what if the elf captain is the descendant of a previous victim. Again maybe im over thinking things

Awesome art. Hope to see a lot more of Seigou. Only problem was that we had to wait so long to get to the use of the Chrysalis.

She goes through all that trouble and danger to get the Chrysalis for him... and then he uses it on her?  That's... horrible... and... super-hot...

You know it's temporary.  You can pull them back out of it. 

Plus we know it feels nice.  What's so bad about it?

Absolutely stunning.

One could argue we're all terrible people. But its all really just semantics. If this could be done for real, than I think the moral quandary should be considered more carefully.

The art is gorgeous here.  However, I confess I was disappointed that the Chrysalis took Elfin Captain Dr. Francine Drake-Jones and turned her into a harem girl.  What a waste.

That being said--this opens up a myriad of possibilities for the future of Chrysalis.

And yes, please continue to commission this artist.  Wow!

Does this just mean that the monarch is frustrated because his wife is frigid and exhibits a limited imagination in front of the Chrysalis for the first few minutes, or is he pathologically incapable of expanding his fantasies or appreciating strong women?

...Or wanted his women easier to control. /shrug

The art is tremendous, but one of the things I love about MCC is that your dialog is really pretty awesome.  No dialog means less awesome.  Definitely hope the dialog kicks back in soon.

You're welcome.  But truly:  The dialog in Hidden Knowledge and St. James Infirmary in particular is great.  St. James Infirmary sometimes reminds me of Alison's Bechdel's "Dykes to Watch Out For" that way, honestly (uh, with mind control and hetero sex, of course); funny, sharp, wry, quick-witted.  The interplay between Erin and Adrian is particularly wonderful, IMO.  So yeah, I miss dialog. :)

I recently did a piece that is basically GI Joe with Cobra bimbo bombs. The first issue was an homage to GI Joe issue 21. I was made to add dialogue. Shouldn't have used that as issue one. Lesson learned.

It's going to be months before it sees publishing, and it's in rather bad taste to advertise my stuff on Daphne's site.

I absolutely ADORED the artwork for this. I actually somewhat prefer 2d to 3d artwork, as, ironically, I can actually perceive it as more realistic, without the "uncanny valley" effect. I enjoyed the subtlety of the silent piece, too. Definitely like more by this author. The bastardry of the king-dude was also on an epic level (and I have absolutely no problem with elves ^.^)

As for fantasy universe vs ours, who's to say that carnival doesn't wander the dimensional roads as well as the conventional ones

The best in this series IMO. And one of the best done period.
Love the story and the exceptional artwork. The main character is so freakin' hot.
Hope to see more done in this vein.

Could do with a continuation of this chapter. I love the Pirate Elf by the way.
