Title: Art History Post by: mns_95125 on November 20, 2013, 09:42:54 pm While we wait for the outcome of the steel cage death match between Alex and Danielle I thought I'd toss out an art history question. The art style of SJI has evolved substantially since the start of the comic. I occasionally wonder how some of those early panels would look if drawn in the current style. So... if you could pick one issue of SJI prior to, say, #50 and have it redrawn in the current style, which one would it be? I think I'd go with #25.

Maybe we could get a standalone of Sue at the restaraunt wondering aloud about the lack of traffic as an aside (like the Mallory and Marli date sequence, or the Scooby conversion).
So, of the things that actually exist--possible candidates include #3 #4 #13 (the New Year's montage although I hesitate over that one because it includes Derek) #25 Plus la change Part 2 However, #26 thru #28 are strong candidates and I think #34 Et Voila pt. 2 could be just as strong a candidate as #25. Additionally, #36 thru #40 and #48 and #49 are all very strong candidates. The question becomes, is this about redoing a splash page or a segment of the night of the watch. If it's a splash pae redo I'd say #34 or #25 and #25 is farthest away from the way the characters look now. But there are a LOT of nice candidates.
