It's as if the very concept of Guy Patterson were a fairytale (a studio musician who married his high school sweetheart and raised a family quietly and happily). Do all mothers fear that "musician" is code for shiftless loser or dead-end relationship...either their poor daughter will be supporting the guy as he chases his dream from club to club to dingy "festival" as he makes no money...or in the unlikely event that he "makes it," he'll drop her as soon as he signs his first contract so that he can enjoy the spoils of touring?
