Another new day?  Definitely the longest, most eventful day so far in the SJI-verse was that Saturday.  Even longer and more eventful than The Night of the Watch.  Not sexier, but more dangerous.

The Night of the Watch was a kickstart.  The Fourteenth was the site of the first crisis (crises) thus far in the development of the Harem.  Dani was attacked, the belltower was loosed, a shell was revealed, and Caitlyn had the first documented experience of Pink Clouds colliding with Watch programming.

What.

No, seriously.  What.

Predawn of new day.  Beyond that....I think mns has it exactly right.

I was going to start raving about lightning sand with no popping sound, but then I remembered.  Flamespurts have popping sounds.  Lightning sand just is.  HELP!!! :o ;D ???

I thought that was Rain because it looked like one of her instruments, but--um, who's the gal doing the dance by herself.  The person who killed the chicken at the Walmart (and presumably added a...what, synthesizer or something) to that instrument to summon Adrian doesn't seem to be the same person dancing.  The person dancing doesn't look to me like anyone we've met.  Plus, the pop-up doesn't help at all (well, it doesn't help me).  Can I make a plea that we sometimes have pop-ups with straight out information or ironic funny editorials again--doing exclusively song lyrics is making my head hurt.

Window 1: I'm think is Alex use the chicken like voodooism (window 3)
Window 2 right : Voodoo a religion of the West Indies (voodoo) god?
Window 3 : dead chicken
Window 4 : Echo Play her oboe (back New York)
window 5: think woman working on watch (CLAUDIA COULBECK ?)
window 5:Adirian have greart Sex and thinking what is the next move. or think of Echo

So how I do?
So what you think?

Echo? ??? ??? ???

Neither of the women in the early portions of the comic looks like Echo.  The chicken-killer's hair is too long, and the mystery dancing person/goddess/whatever is way too busty.

If that is Echo playing her oboe--when and how did she get here?

Whoever's playing, whatever that is, I think she's trying to exercise some control over or call to Adrian, and it partially worked.

ETA--The chicken-killer could be Alex.  But, since when does Walmart sell live chickens?  However, even if that is Alex with the chicken, it doesn't explain the Priestess of WHOA, or the instrument.  Based on what little we have here, I thought the chicken-killer was the same person playing the...modified instrument, and that she was trying to draw Adrian.  However, none of that explains the Priestess of WHOA.

Well, that's not a song lyric. :)

And to make matters more confusing easier: The title of the piece and the title text are significant to the interpretation of this page.

The woman dancing in panel 2 is Laura.

I...forgot that Laura was that generously endowed.  Is panel 2 Q-ball funtime?

The repairing of The Watch is rather flummoxing because the hands look feminine and seem to have pink nail polish on--but pink is sometimes the base fleshcoat for our illustrious artist.  Is the Watch tinkerer the same person playing the instrument?

Panel 4 might be Dani's dream?  Of reassembling The Watch?  Huh?

I got the sense that whoever was working on the housing of The Watch, put part of it into that instrument.  When she played it, it called to Adrian.  And the mouth did not look like Dani's but I have nothing concrete to support me here.

I think there was a clarinet stashed somewhere in Rain's cabin of music, history, and pleasure when Marliese visited.

sax, oboe or clarinet have reed mouthpiece

But they don't all look the same. Oboes - including the one we saw Echo playing - have a long thin mouthpiece.

Just to make things more complicated - I have it on good authority that some oboists, especially those who struggle with the difficult embouchure of the Oboe's traditional reed, do use a clarinet mouthpiece :)

Best odds - the woman with the instrument is Dani, installing the shell in it.

GodWilling - I think these are actual events occurring in a variety of settings at dawn's first light - mostly based on a read of the title's source material.

(Of course, since I'm wrong about 98.3% of the time with my predictions, it has become likely that this is not the case, but make of that what you will.)

Panel 2 shows Laura emerging from a pink cloud dressed as a happy harem girl. My feeling is that that is unlikely to be happening right now. I can only make sense of it as symbolising her relief following her anguish on Saturday morning. As far as we know, only Adrian or Laura - or we - would understand that image.

Or, perhaps, Vik.  He knows about Pink Clouds and works with Laura.  He's also got some reason to feel hostile to Adrian for stealing his girlfriend -- perhaps he's dreaming of stealing one back?  The vaguely Indian look of Laura's clothing and mannerisms in that shot would be consistent with this hypothesis.

Are these carefully calculated odds?

More that the oboe itself is disassembled in the picture.  Why would it be relevant to show that?

Say what now????

I don't understand how you deduced this? I'm assuming because you can't see it all???

You can't see the whole of the oboists head - has that also been disassembled???? lol @ You!!!

I hadn't considered the possibility that Vik might start actively exploiting Pink Clouds now that he's had it explained to him.

On the one hand, as an MC fetishist all of the girls being part of the same MC'ed harem is pretty hot.  On the other, Vick could use a squeeze, and he's not a bad guy (yet, still waiting for the supervillain moment lol).  So if the belltower has put sex in the air...

Also I suppose we'd have to throw Q into the mix here too, because he's just met Laura and he knows about Pink Clouds, and he seems to have a thing for Indian clothing.

Right, I forgot about him.  Per #96 Q may have an attraction to Laura, and we know he likes his women dressed up in traditional Indian garb.

I thought of Clay (who we haven't met yet) as a candidate for belltower assistance.  Other people are going with Vik.

He's unattached right now.  It would make sense if he were attracted to Laura, but they're just friends.  More importantly, the harem girl outfit in traditional Indian dress is Q's brainchild, not Vik's.
