I'm trying to link in my mind the link between the theme of fortification (bastion, keep) and the plot. Is the Infirmary now the stronghold defending our heroes from attack? That's my guess as to how this is playing out, but since I am wrong about every other guess and supposition I make, I will refrain from further analysis at this point. And what exactly is Mal doing to the shotgun ammo? It's a single round gun. Is she adding Silver shavings to it? Checking them for damage?
