Oops, fixed!

Does Jacqui even know that Pearl applied to Wilmot for undergrad....let alone, got in?  There's a lot of confusing stuff here.

1. Q-Box and his ghoul sponsor were developing Pink Clouds in '06, '07.
2. Pearl was a mini-version of Jacqui before the incident with the blonde.  Rocker-chick.  Named her fish after The Boss...perhaps, purple streaks in her hair.
3. Pearl shared her mother's taste in men (at least the bad side).

So, the entire Miriam thing seems to be a response to trauma.  What trauma?  Who was that blonde?  Did Pearl catch Q field testing Pink Clouds after a near miss?  Well, at least it provides new wrinkles to the inciting incident for us to puzzle over.

There is a hidden bad joke in this episode. The first person to decode it completely wins a free month.

Bruce the puffer fish, as in Bruce Banner. He puffs up when he gets upset e.g. he hulks out.

Not a bad guess, but not quite. It ties in more than just that.

I wondered about the military time on the clock compared to the the pop-up text.

Clock says "20:22"  Questions are:  "How old are you?"  "How young am I?"

How old are you?  20  How young am I? 22, but I doubt it's that.  Not Bruce Hulking?  A Bruce Springstien joke or a combo of Bruce and Mick?

Or--what about the purple mindwipe perfume?  (top right corner purple vial labeled "wipe" instead of a color and an insignia like the Pink Cloud doodle on the one that one that Pearl grabbed.


Whoever does get this, it'll be a forehead slap time for the rest of us.

Then I'm going to guess that it's because Q's also a mild-mannered scientist. If it's not that, I'm not going to worry about it :)

Okay, I'm gonna take one more shot at this.

Bruce Springsteen (notice the improved spelling) and Secret Garden (a shared secret?).  Weak on my part, but an effort.

If it is Schneier, it could be about the pregnability of the lab with something like Pink Clouds (that no while many systems are complex enough that their authors couldn't see how they could be broken, they remain vulnerable), but in a larger sense it could be about the security of The Watch.  Heck, that concept could be shorthand for Dani's escape from the New York Harem in the first place, or the futility of Adrian wasting all his energy in trying to devise a security system for the Watch now.  But this is way WAY out of my neighborhoood.  Or, it could foretell Pearl's involvement in getting Q busted in spite of his security precautions.  OR, her interest in security could presage a role for her within the SJI social construct much later on (security chief?).

So, yes, we have a winner... Pearl named her new puffer fish after Bruce Schneier, the cryptographer. Congratulations, Laguna!
