Hi, everyone!

Just a note that PK is finally taking a well-deserved vacation. The SJI updates on 5/24, 5/28, 5/31, 6/4 and 6/7/2013 will be guest pages, and normal service will resume 6/11!

Is taking, or will be taking?  Sorry, a little under the weather here.  At any rate--Enjoy the time off, PK! :D  Your talent and humor are appreciated.

Echoing jmundt's wishes for an enjoyable break.  By late May, that will be about 100 issues of SJI in a twelve-month period.  Well-deserved indeed.

Are they going to be guest appearances that advance the plot?

They're all going to be about menstrual cramps.

Let me give that another try.  Will guest pages be g-designate backstories and sidestories or numbered with and advancing the continuum (185, etc. about Kanti's attempt to find Adrian's "stash" and the complications that ensue).

I'm sure Daphne just made a typo when she wrote this.  
What she meant to type was that Adrian, Dani and Erin and Jacqui (Mal had to work that day)
All got to a Renaissance  Fair  in full medieval garb where, Erin offers Adrian a mandolin to accompany her to do some quick busking for more beer... I mean Mead (aka honey wine) money.. he attempts to play but then feels an excruciating pain in his hands (from practicing too much with rain).   When Dani asks whats wrong, Jacqui rolls her eyes and grumbles:  " Typical male Minstrel Cramps!"


Hazah!

They will all be G-series pages. Whether they advance the plot or not will be left as an exercise to the reader.

Just to clear up for those wondering.  The G-series page corresponds to the letter in front of the image title.

So given the sporadic nature of comic updates--one per month nowadays--we will essentially have no stories being told for most of the next two months.  That's unfortunate.

I'm sorry you think that the guest pages don't "tell a story." Obviously, I disagree.

The stated vacation is about 2.5 weeks long. That hardly "most" of the next two months. Also, you're being given 5 weeks notice of that fact. I'm thrilled they are being this open.

I'm pleased to announce that MB, the artist of "Vastenavond", will be handling guest page duties during PK's holiday!

Since all the guest pages are coming from the same artist, will they all be part of the same 'arc'?  Prior guest comics have been either stand-alone or short series -- no more than 3 parts.

Excellent--but the arc will be removed from the main storyline as the belltower crashes into the theft which bumps into the Watch, etc?  So many interesting possibilities.  Pat & Miel's relationship, Erin's fantastical nightmare, Q's nefarious and conviction, Rain's origin, Claudia's backstory, Meghan's backstory, the invention and history of the Watch before the Evil Kuppler Trio got their grubby hands on it, or even Jen's backstory and why she deigns to help Derek the Moron, even for money.  Any of these might be exceptionally interesting.
