Ok I know actress keep their Stage name. Is this a Dream? time three Great art work Title: Re: Saint James Infirmary Guest Page 13: The Sun Refused to Shine Post by: Daphne on March 16, 2013, 08:26:23 am To clarify (since Eizar's art style is so different from PK's):
1. The woman in the indigo chiton is Rain. 2. The woman in black is Danielle. Title: Re: Saint James Infirmary Guest Page 13: The Sun Refused to Shine Post by: jmundt29 on March 16, 2013, 09:48:59 am Okay, there's an important note here.
The two guest pages we just saw cannot possibly exist in the same timeline. So it looks like we're seeing two possible negative futures. #12 was set "four years from now," with now being 2012, so it's 2016. In that one, Adrian is depressed, defeated, and poor, but not ailing, and Erin (still with her maiden name) is alive and annoyed and writing (or maybe just performing) angry plays with Right Said Weston. #13 is set on Haloween, 2020, five years after Erin's death. In THIS possible future, Erin's death is three years from "now," with Adrian defeated (by his own pyrrhic victory) and widowed, physically and spiritually broken. Erin Cavanaugh (nee Hackberry) is dead, having lived in the sunlight of love for less than two years--and the confrontation ends in a stalemate. Adrian didn't win, "he" didn't win (yet). We don't necessarily know who "he" is. I lean toward El Magnifico, but it could be Q or Vik or Yves, or Weston, or Sawyer, or even Derek if he got a permanent Flowers for Algernon surgery. However, it should be demonstrated that the playbill from #12 couldn't exist in #13. If the Pinter performance were to happen in the timeline of #13, (October 1, 2016), Erin would have been dead for almost a year before Weston stepped onstage. While I don't find either of these possible futures satisfying, I get the sense that we're looking at a variety of possible outcomes as the story progresses and eventually we'll hit on an excellent one. Title: Re: Saint James Infirmary Guest Page 13: The Sun Refused to Shine Post by: Technophyle on March 17, 2013, 08:25:02 am I would suspect that it might be time to do an updated "Who's Who": the cast (and their differing agendas) has grown large enough that it would be worth it.

Yes, that's correct. Title: Re: Saint James Infirmary Guest Page 13: The Sun Refused to Shine Post by: jmundt29 on March 17, 2013, 09:33:04 pm Who's Who might be interesting (even though we've only added four women and four men since the last one). But I think posting the agendas would be considered "cheating."
Title: Re: Saint James Infirmary Guest Page 13: The Sun Refused to Shine Post by: Werdna on March 18, 2013, 01:40:38 pm This issue is really beautiful to look at: vibrant colours contrasted with so much grey. Well done. Adrian's bitterness at his loss, years later, is still evident in both the artwork and the dialogue. And I, too, love the gravestone inscription - it gets across in three words how much Erin meant. It also informs her character in the 'present'.
Not too much to add to points already made, except to wonder who the "he" is that Rain and Adrian are referring to. I wonder if we've met him (Zenon? Derek? Vik? Q? Yves? - all possible but unlikely, given what we know to date), or whether it's the NY harem master who Claudia hopes is dead? Also: both Adrian and Dani are wearing mourning clothes, years later. I wonder if it's for this occasion or whether they've been in mourning for all that time. Lastly, Danielle seems to be acting as Adrian's chauffeur, though I could have that wrong. So right now, the 'future' seems to be in that quantum state where all endings exist simultaneously until they are resolved into a single point. I look forward to see how this unfolds, and, I hope, a different ending from either of these last two guest pages. Title: Re: Saint James Infirmary Guest Page 13: The Sun Refused to Shine Post by: jmundt29 on March 18, 2013, 02:35:28 pm We seem to be getting a spinning cylinder of possible futures. I hope we land and stick on an excellent one.
They're probably still grieving, but I think the clothes and the flowers are specific to this anniversary and not an indication that they've been wearing "mourning clothes" for five years. In #12 Erin Hackberry has a playbill out for a production of a Pinter play starring her and Weston, "The Legend In His Own Mind." The date for this event is October 1, 2016. Adrian scratches out a meager existence...or tries to...with Echo. He's a couple eyelashes from destitute, but he seems healthy, if depressed. In #13 It's 2020 and Adrian is visiting the grave of Erin Cavanaugh who died in 2015. He is there with Rain and Dani, but no Echo. He is rich, but his health is failing him (his cane does not appear decorative). Aside from all the other inconsistencies, unless Erin was somehow cloned back in the late '80s, there is no way these two events could coexist in the same future. Title: Re: Saint James Infirmary Guest Page 13: The Sun Refused to Shine Post by: Daphne on March 18, 2013, 09:45:45 pm Weston, "The Legend In His Own Mind." Good grief, the man has had about four lines in the whole comic. :) Title: Re: Saint James Infirmary Guest Page 13: The Sun Refused to Shine Post by: jmundt29 on March 18, 2013, 09:48:51 pm Daphne, I do apologize, but he's going to have to have a Jessica Rabbit moment to purge his initial negative impression. He looks like he's trying to be a cross between Prince (un)Charming from Shrek 2 and a Cavalier (even when not in costume for Kiss Me Kate) and he appears to be trying to carry himself and project the image of Fabio on one of those stupid romance novel covers. I don't like that look on ANY character, even Clark Kent. Why would I stand for it from a self-important wannabe player?
Title: Re: Saint James Infirmary Guest Page 13: The Sun Refused to Shine Post by: mns_95125 on March 18, 2013, 10:27:34 pm Not physically possible. While I am inclined to agree with you it may be possible to reconcile the two if you put a more metaphorical spin on Erin's 'death'. One could imagine that Erin and Adrian were happily married through 2015 and then got into some kind of conflict with 'him'. Said conflict fundamentally alters Erin's personality, ripping her away from Adrian, but in a way that later leads to Adrian's partial victory over 'him'. In effect, Erin Cavanaugh dies in a kamikaze attack and Erin Hackberry rises from the ashes. Title: Re: Saint James Infirmary Guest Page 13: The Sun Refused to Shine Post by: Vidor on March 19, 2013, 10:26:03 am t may be possible to reconcile the two if you put a more metaphorical spin on Erin's 'death'. That would be pretty silly, since this is not a metaphorical "death" but a straight-up tombstone. Anyway, obviously this guest comic was even worse than the one before. Could we have a little less tragedy and sadness and death and a little more mind control sex? Title: Re: Saint James Infirmary Guest Page 13: The Sun Refused to Shine Post by: jmundt29 on March 19, 2013, 11:16:09 am I heartily disagree with you, there. The art was fantabulous, we had more context for the tone, and it certainly seems as if we're in a position where the remnants of the harem are still close emotionally and physically--so while his health holds, there are still possibilities for splash pages. In 12, color and passion seemed almost to have been drained away to nothing.
I can't see a metaphoric death being commemorated with an actual tombstone, and I can't see Adrian's fiscal fortunes and personal connections shifting as wildly as stringing 12 and 13 along the same timeline would indicate. He went from Johnny Castle to Gordon Gekko in three years?
