Title: Re: Saint James Infirmary 154: La Cage aux Folles Post by: Chettbaker on January 20, 2013, 07:55:12 pm The cage of mad women..or a reference to the musical? I'm guessing its back to the mystery room and Derek's discovery of what lies within.

La cage aux folles literally means "the cage of mad women". However folles is also a slang term for effeminate homosexuals (queens). Title: Re: Saint James Infirmary 154: La Cage aux Folles Post by: Werdna on January 21, 2013, 07:44:45 am I'll guess that it's back to Caitlyn's and Hitomi's place, and the title refers to the effects of the signal emanating from the campanile.

I think it's more likely we're headed back for the Moron and his moronic break-in plan. Might be interesting if we took a loook at other samples of perfume and what they do, though.
Title: Re: Saint James Infirmary 154: La Cage aux Folles Post by: Chettbaker on January 21, 2013, 10:07:13 pm Daphne, you should have been a baseball player. You've got a wicked curve ball. :)
Might be interesting if we took a loook at other samples of perfume and what they do, though. I like jmundt29's chain of thought. ----------------- A)If that one causes mind control, I wonder what this one does B)Isnt that extremely dangerous? A)Yes. B) Ok gimme! I want to take a big whiff!! ---------------- But what would some other fun effects be? Anyone? Title: Re: Saint James Infirmary 154: La Cage aux Folles Post by: jmundt29 on January 22, 2013, 08:49:31 am Laura was supposed to be obtaining samples for a girls' night--I didn't just make that up out of the air.
A curveball? This one makes the eephus pitch look like a batting practice fastball. I can't tell if this is a flashback, a transposition, a hallucination, an indication that Jeane is someone else in disguise. Is that last frame supposed to be Claudia without the outfit? the way Jeane used to look? The member of the New York Harem (someone we haven't met yet) who first inducted Dani? I gotta tell ya, a headscratcher like this is not a balm for a terrible weekend. Title: Re: Saint James Infirmary 154: La Cage aux Folles Post by: Werdna on January 22, 2013, 10:32:09 am I think she's hallucinating her past - like seeing her reflection in the window a couple of issues back. Combined with her nightmare in the guest page, Danielle seems to be having a very rough go of things. Especially given the title of the issue - is she a madwoman in a cage?
My supposition: her current programming is somehow in conflict with her previous programming, and this is a form of memory 'bleed'. I think the two last frames are meant to insinuate that the similar situation - hand poses, bird cage, etc. - acts as a trigger for the hallucination. I don't think Jeane is someone else. The other thing: she never does answer Jeane about whether she has a green card - she seems evasive, trying to change the subject. A plea to the author: please do not deport Danielle. Standard disclaimer: I may be full of crap and am likely wrong. Title: Re: Saint James Infirmary 154: La Cage aux Folles Post by: GodWilling on January 22, 2013, 12:23:34 pm .

Danielle has her green card. I'm with Werdna on this one and wishing there were a like button in the menu. I'd almost hoped that there would have been a view of Danielle's eyes in wide shock/panic after the last panel. Though I understand leaving it to our imaginations (and you've seen how vast and vivid those can be) to fill in that reaction gap was easier and more effective. Though in contrast to Werdna, My thought on the whole flashback thing is more pedestrian; in that maybe Danielle's mind just needed time to heal, much like Adrian's heart did before he started playing guitar with Erin. .. Or maybe Danielle has just been licking too many stamps on both sides. the deep plant or door open to a room in her mind? So have wait and see? Title: Re: Saint James Infirmary 154: La Cage aux Folles Post by: GodWilling on January 23, 2013, 11:51:50 am .
