Well, I suppose it echoes 167 - I wondered at the time why Erin suddenly donned the pentacle in that page. Which does bring me back to the idea of whether this has happened before, or indeed whether it's been happening all along. (Which I suppose also brings me back to the Danni Rain Erin Adrian Mallory thing.) Did Aiken put the pentacle into the drawer here? Did he do it back then too? I'm figuring that back then it was merely Erin's intuition regarding the imminent attempt on Danni's/Mallory's life that prompted her. But she's worn it ever since then, so maybe the question should be: why had she stopped at the start of the comic?

I guess that sucking in the soul of someone with Erin's powers might not have been the best idea on Miriam's part. I am also reminded that right when this whole arc started SJI got this new cover image:
https://mindcontrolcomics.com/comics/sji/c015/ So I kind of expected some kind of grand challenge for Erin to come up eventually. Maybe this is part of it? Or maybe I just read too much into that? I have to admit, SJI has an amazing way of always keeping me guessing. An obvious question then becomes: if Erin is regaining control, what is to become of Miriam? Title: Re: Saint James Infirmary #1390: “Her work is not yet done.” Post by: lancehunter on May 21, 2024, 09:23:57 am Or even what becomes of the others under Miriam's control? Do the dreams they are experiencing change? (I can't imagine Erin is going to be particularly pleased with what is Aiken is experiencing.) Is Erin going to free them? Or is she going to begin her own corruption arc?
This also raises the possibility that Adrian's arrival will actually become a complication for the plot rather than a source of resolution. Especially if he's trying to save Erin and crew from Miriam and doesn't realize who is now in charge... (Then again, I could also be completely off-base here. But we shall see.) Makes me wish we got more Confused
