Just a note to thank everyone for their patience as Phase 4 gets built. It already has 50% more lines of code than Phase 3, and it's not done yet. Lots more art, too.

Quality takes time! (And, I guess, quantity.)

Quantity has a quality all its own.

I'd say that yes, it is, although the remaining part is not a small bit of work… It'll be worth it, though, I promise.

By way of comparison, Phase 3 ("The Girlfriend Experience") is 2,300 lines of code, 3,350 lines of templates, and 103 images.

I'm going to look a gift horse in the mouth here: are you able to say how many Phase 2 had?

Or I suppose, to ask this another way: do you anticipate this will be the largest phase so far?

Oh, it will definitely be the largest. Phase 2 ("The Butterfly Effect"):

Racing for that two-year mark!

Without going back and trying to find it again, I faintly recall Daphne debating whether to make the next release of Starter Marriage content larger, and thus take longer to complete, or smaller, and thus deliver less material but become ready for release sooner. I don't remember whether there was a conclusion as to which route was superior (I'm happy with whatever results in the artist retaining interest in the project) but now I am wondering if this is the "longer" imagined tranche or if this is the "shorter" imagined tranche (in which case, thank God, otherwise we'd be waiting until 2030). Or if the question is, due to the vagaries of the process, meaningless.

For phase 4, it was really just that my ambition got away from me. After P4 is released, I'm planning on smaller, more frequent releases because this has been very painful. :-)
