Amalthea is probably gonna be easy for Miriam to deal with, especially given the implication she’s already worked some touch magic on her before. I am curious to see how she deals with Aiken, however. Going back, I do think I found out how Miriam got her soul-sucking ability: waaaaaay back in 473, after the first ritual, Miriam asked Erin what she was and Erin replied there wasn’t really a name for what she was or did, but that she could teach Miriam things. The next time we see Miriam after that is in 479, when she seems to be studying some of Erin’s magic from a tome Erin must have lent her. I think the implication is that that book is how she learned the mystical side of her powers, and then her touch ability obviously came from Patrick. The question now is: how much did she exactly learn from that book, and is it enough to counter Aiken’s own power? She does have the advantage of the element of surprise, as well as possibly Ama on her side as a double agent, but it also begs the question whether she can incapacitate Aiken and learn about the approaching Adrian in time to prepare for him. The perfume seems to have no effect on men given that Adrian smelled it at the infirmary and was unaffected, so she would have to rely on her own ability to combat both of the guys

It appears the character links aren't appearing on this issue. (Also, 100% looking forward to seeing whatever domination fantasy is appearing in Amaltheia's minds-eye.)

EDIT: Fixed quick, thanks!
