It's like there's some sort of theme common to all the comics on the site...

Title: Re: An Education #39 Post by: grimtidings on August 11, 2022, 03:40:23 am I think we're just seeing one mind at work... no matter how much you compartmentalize, same writer will bring common phrases and themes (unless that was sarcasm but, even then, I answer rhetorical questions, too).
My question is: did Charlotte drop out of Micah's play (that he convinced her to join) to go full-time on her new "boyfriend" (that, somehow, Micah doesn't mind sharing with)? I can almost like Micah as a controller with his unfortunate harem-building motivation because it was sprinkled with a little pragmatic "AND good actresses can be in my plays". Him just loaning out Charlotte like chattel (I imagine Noah is in cahoots with Micah somehow) is... just like a bunch of other controller guys. I'm hoping something like... he needed a male lead and traded Charlotte to Noah to secure his place in the play. Apparently, I've decided that Micah is a director first and a harem-builder second. I should know better but that's where I think this question (and paragraph) is coming from. Enjoyable re-reading of Charlotte's entire arc with my coffee this morning. :) Title: Re: An Education #39 Post by: Daphne on August 11, 2022, 07:41:09 am Odd coincidence, this comic opens with almost literally the same words the last issue of SJI ended with. While the structure of AE can make it unclear, the performance closed well before the events of #39. Title: Re: An Education #39 Post by: carmel0 on August 11, 2022, 08:59:53 am I agree with the other questions/comments regarding AE.
The first issue eluded to Micah telling us a story about how he got to where he is today with Gwen in his hotel room. The next few issues pursued that theme and it was interesting to see the story unfold. And it was done so well. I understand that the story jumps to different times and places, but now it just seems to be all over the place and tough to follow. Maybe if you updated it every Thursday ; ) Title: Re: An Education #39 Post by: grimtidings on August 11, 2022, 07:11:11 pm My question is: did Charlotte drop out of Micah's play (that he convinced her to join) to go full-time on her new "boyfriend" (that, somehow, Micah doesn't mind sharing with)? Logically-sound but, if he's not collecting talent for said performance, what other reason exists to draw an endless stable of actresses into his orbit? The world may never know. |
